I love this site. You will get some very successful/experienced growers who say absolutely "A, never Z". You will also get a group of other very successful/experienced growers who say absolutely "Z, never A".

Ahh, the intertubes.
Pretty much on every subject lol. For example: to prune or not to prune? LOL

Yeah man I always thought some of that was exaggerated old wives tales. But.

After my past run on some Bodhi regs, I realized that red LED on the power strip was on the entire run. This wasn't my first rodeo either. I had never even noticed. And. I flipped the lights on twice and stunted it. It's seemed like the flowering stopped for a couple of weeks. After all that I even sealed off the door Jam of the room the closet is in. LoL.

Old wives tale or not. Or exaggerated as it may or may not be. Best to be safe in my opinion.

The reason I ask is because I've been waiting for my trichomes to appear and nothing's been happening so I tightened up the enclosure and one or two days later I got trichomes!

You don't need complete darkness. Moonlight is below the minimum and lightning is for too short a duration. Just look up the intensity of a full moon and you'll know the approximate cutoff. You'll probably be surprised how much light it actually is. You could probably read in moonlight.

Total BS. Dude's a noob and is kinda ignorant and doesn't provide quality data to back up this stupid claim. Plants want the natural. If you're gonna grow outdoor then be vigilant. I don't do that. If you're gonna Grow indoor then you will have to provide an environment for good genes to be vigorous. Simply stupid. It's just weed.

Yeah I'm just a dumb noob. Wish I was smart like you.

"Short-day plants
Short-day plants flower when the night lengths exceed their critical photoperiod. They cannot flower under short nights or if a pulse of artificial light is shone on the plant for several minutes during the night; they require a continuous period of darkness before floral development can begin. Natural nighttime light, such as moonlight or lightning, is not of sufficient brightness or duration to interrupt flowering." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photoperiodism

BTW moonlight varies from 0.1 to 0.26 lux, depending on conditions where you are.
