Mother plant dilemma

After long ass veg. stage I am about to start budding the plant... :weed: However I only have one plant going, and I want to smoke as soon as possible:hump: But i also dont want to start all over again...
A lot of people say, to clone it, wait for clones to reach certain size, and then bud it, and if it turns out to be a female you have nice mother plant, and possibility to chop shit down every 7 - 8 weeks constantly. But it would extend the process by at least 2 months...

So Im thinking why not take some clones now, and bud the plant I have right now... If it turns out to be male, I wont have to play with the clones, and if its going to be female (please!!!) by the time it buds, my clones will reach the size of their mother, therefore it shortens waiting period...

Is that ok to do, why don't people do it? is the shit getting weaker by the generation??

Well i was gonna do it the other way around, but like I said, I want to smoke as soon as possible, so I got extra motivation to do some thinking lol it doesn't hurt sometimes lol From here yea I wanted to get some feed back, because I've read several threads and talked to several people, and didn't hear about it:P Im sure i didnt discover America:P However since it's not so popular, maybe ther's something wrong about it:P

I do it the way you are talking about doing it. I cut clones off the plant and throw it into flower. If it is a male I dump the clones if it is a female they are more than ready to flower by the time the other has finished flowering. I don't know if space is why you only have one plant but I actually put 2-4 clones into flowering every two weeks and pull out 2-4 that have finished flowering. So I get a few plants worth of bud every two weeks. I always have a female clone ready to replace any plant from seed that I put into flower as well in case i's a male it doesn't throw my cycle too bad.

I only have one plant, because Im just starting. Its a bag seed, so its more like an exeperimental expirience:P but hey if it turns out to be a female I will be very happy, and def get more then one plant goin`and if its a male, Im gonna invest in seeds.

Don't bud your momma until the cuttings have rooted (just in case ya gotta cut more)

thanks man, I really dont know what to do:P I was really surprised when I went to the hydroponic store today in my area, and the salesman knew exactly why I need that stuff for, and was very helpful lol That is kinda surprising, because where Im originally from you get busted for weed hard! (Im from Poland and live in Canada now)
