Mountain Growing in Central America

Thank you MrBudSmoker, I really appreciate the comment. I just couldn't stop myself from a few more pictures this morning on my walk.
First is a picture of one of Mary's buds, she is certainly starting to enter her final stages.
Second is a picture of Jane and the nice trunk she developed, I still have to keep her staked though as she is so top heavy in the mountain winds.
Third is a picture of a middle branch just to highlight how nicely developed Jane turned out to be.
Thanks for all the reading and all comments are welcome.
Happy growing to All:joint:

Good morning to all, I start the day with a happy face a very happy face. For those of you who had been asking about my luggage, well the airline called last night and they found my bag. I was so happy, it has if you remember my 50 seeds of various strains and my play station 3 controls and games. I was 3 weeks ago today that the bag was lost so you can imagine how happy I am plus the cost and loss of those precious seeds. Thanks for all the thoughts about the bag I am sure that it helped me out. Happy growing to All.

The once proud Mary, which was bentover in the middle, finally broke in a heavy wind. Mary was thankfully starting her 10th week of flower, so she wasn't ready but she was very close. I still have Mary standing at 6 feet and recoverying nicely. Mary I hope will continue to flower the lower branches and not reveg......Yesterday was just full of bad news Dreams, which I went from thinking girl, boy, girl...finally showed itself as a boy and the pruning shears were used with all due swiftness.
The best news is that tomorrow I am starting 2 Northern Light seeds. I wanted to start some of my others but with the shortening of days I figure that I can start the NL in the greenhouse and clone enough to keep me until the 22nd of December. Great Growing to All:mrgreen:

Well, a new day is dawning. Since the Mary had her little set back she is doing well and doesn't seem shocky at all. I couldn't be more thrilled with Mary right now.......the lower branches as filling out their buds nicely and haven't seemed to slow in the slightest bit.
Now for the good news......I started two Northern Light seeds this morning. So I now have new hope and something else to spend my time with.
Jane is really doing very well, the flowers are filling in nicely. she is into her 4th week if my feeble memory is correct.

Well I haven't said nor done much this week, but here is an update of everyone's progress along with a few new pics.
The first pic is of one of Mary's buds entering her I think 11th week of flower. We have to remember that after she lost her top, it might have slowed her down a bit. Presently she stands alittle over 5 ft and is filling in nicely. The second pic I believe is of Mary showing her new lower standing, at least the bottom of her is developing.
The third picture is of my little dark room and drying room. The buds are of Mary's top branches drying, today is the 7th day in the room and the progress seems to be good, the smell is better each day.
The last picture is of Jane, I believe this is starting her 4th week. I would have to go back and read again to be sure though.
My three clones which are starting to flower yesterday and today are doing very well. I am excited to watch them as this is my first time cloning and flowering. They went from there rooting pots to the 3 gallon pots then went immediately to the dark room.
Pretty Girl is showing flowering today also, pics of her to come tomorrow along with one of my first Northern Light seedling.

Comments and or suggestions are welcome.

Well what a week this has been on the farm, the plants aren't all doing as well as hoped. So here is a quick update with pics to follow later today. Mary has been cut again, this time I took 5 more mature branches off of her and letting the lower ones now fully mature. I realize this is a bit unconventional but I have done this with many plants over the years and it seems to work for me anyway. She is doing very well and her buds continue to grow at a good rate. Also, the buds from the top breaking are now curing with orange peel, I might add I have sampled it and I must say that she turned out well.
Jane is doing very well entering her I believe her 5th week of flowering, I will have to go back and read my journal to tell for sure....lol. Her flowering is going very well and starting to get some size to them.
Pretty Girl is now into full flower, she started mid week and the 3 clones I have in pots are now in flower.
Well I will post pictures later today.

Well it rained all afternoon yesterday so I didn't get any pictures, but I did today. The first one is one is of the Northern Light......I can't belive this little thing was put in the ground on the 11th broke ground on the 13th and this is as big as it has gotten in 7 days. I about had given up on it but it is showing the next set of leaves finally today. The next two pictures are of Mary, she had a bud picture taken and then I went to her with the machet, . She is hanging well though and gave up lots of nice smoke. The last picture is of Pretty Girl, she is at the end of her first week of flower and really really looking better than the pic shows. She has 43 main branch tips which are looking fatter this early than either Mary or Jane. I hope ya'll enjoy the pics and any comments are appreciated. :blsmoke:

:joint:Hi all, glad to be back after being very sick for a week. I haven't updated in over a week and there has been lots going on, so sit back and get updated. The first picture is of my new Northern Light.......she has been growing oh so slowly. I put her in the ground on the 11th of August and today is the 27th and this is all the bigger she is. I hope that this just means she is a slow starter.
The pictures of the plants in the pots are of clones taken from Jane and in full flower now, alittle over 2 weeks into it. The clones were rooted in July and took almost 4 weeks to show good signs of rooting then went straight into the flower room. The rate of growth has been good and the size of the flowers are very encouraging.
The worst news I have come across is the seed success I have had with the seeds from Nirvana. I germinated 2 NL seeds which one sprouted. I then attempted Maui Waui seeds two each.........no luck and one Master Kush no luck. I have done these seeds exactly as I have done all my seeds for the last 35 years or so. Oh, well just another drug deal gone bad.........lol. I am getting ready to try another pair of seeds I just haven't figured out what to try this time.
I do have Mary drying nicely now and is maybe still 2 or 5 days away from being put in jars to cure. The aroma is getting better each day and I am getting so anxious to make my first batch of hash oil and I am getting ready when Jane is finished to attempt my first batch of hash. Thanks for reading and anyone with comments and or suggestions please feel free to add them.......

Thanks for looking Ralphie, yes we are still in the rainy season. The rainy season or as it is called down here the winter season runs from May thru December. We have had more rain than you can imagine this year, yesterday we had over 3 inches of rain. I realize this sounds like lots but we have been getting around 10 inches a week the past month or more with no end in sight. Hope you let me know when you come to Costa Rica next, I would love to show you around Cartago and give you a glimpse of what I am doing here. Keep in touch.

What an awesome thread. I'd quit everything right now if I had the option to move to Central America for that view and just be secluded with me and my plants.

I want to thank ya'll for you comments, I truly appreciate them. The big plant is named Jane, Mary was harvested awhile back. Jane is almost 12 feet tall now and is concluding her second month of flower, I might add the buds are finally getting some girth to them. Jane comes from bagseed which was purchased in Panama back in March.
I agree with you the view is totally awesome and I wake up every morning thanking God for the place I live. Ok ready for the sales pitch? I do have a cabin for sale and I have 2 small lots for sale. You to can have the same view and come share nature here. The babies are great but I also one of the largerst collections of native orchids in country. Please come back and look some more, I post new pics often and try to update the thread every few days.:joint::joint:

Not much is going on right now, seem to be in a bit of a period of its not done flowering and you guys are still too small to do anything with. I have the NL #2 all up and starting to look good, I am surprise and the slow rate of growth though. I have 2 thoughts on the that one is that I am growing her mostly outside, in the greenhouse at times when the weather is very cool and wet. The Hawaii x Maui Waui is finally up, she broke ground yesterday and she is very small, but I am all smiles.
My first three clones ever are now flowering very nicely and the flowers look a tad fatter than mommy at the same time.........has to be the soil difference. I have 8 clones all rooted and in soil and 4 which I really don't think will ever see good ole Mother Earth. These clones once in soil will be put in the darkroom after the first week, these are just being grown for a bit of oil.
Oh, I did make my first hash oil last week, whew!!!!!! Maybe that was why I didn't write much this week. I was surprised at the ease and the end product. I will post pics later today or tomorrow depending on the weather and my work project (building new kitchen cabinets).:joint:

Good morning all here is the next update and I have been busy that past couple of days. First off, I want to show off the newest baby........she is 3 days old now (Hawaii x Maui Waui). I think she is looking pretty good so far and standing straighter each hour it appears.
The second picture is of the new generation of clones, I finally figured out why I am having such trouble with the clones rooting. I am be having problems but I still have more than I can truly use......lol, guess I will figure out what to do with them.........unless anyone wants to come visit and pick up a few.
Now for the picture of NL #2.........she is a bit over 3 weeks old now, she sprouted on the 13th of August. She is my first grow from the seeds I have bought from Nirvana. I am not totally happy so far with my rate of germination from them as compared to bag seeds which I have sprouted, but I am hoping that the end product makes up for the difference.
Ok now for the joyous and sad news all in the same breath. Jane is now hanging in my rancho. I don't have a clue as to what she will weigh out at but she is bigger than Mary was and Mary gave up almost a kilo . Now out of that I have maybe 6 ozs of great looking bud to put into my collection. What did I do with the rest you ask? Well I am curing it further to make hash and hash oil.
I will keep you posted on the makings of this. Thanks again for all the people reading the journal and adding their comments. I love reading your comments whether they be good or if you have suggestions to help my grow be better.

Thanks again for reading and posting a comment, good growing to all.

You read my mind. That is some beautiful country you have there and the plants look fantastic. :weed:
