Makes sense really, back in the day there was more people working the farms, more logging. now, im not sure, i havent lived there in 14 or 15 years, its been a few since i last went up.

I met one of my best friends while he was in easton, im pretty sure his family lives in blaine now. got stuck in a couple potato fields there before hahaha.

oddly enough, him & his ol' lady are now in NH also.

Sorry dude, go any further north than limestone, and its pure frenchville, you know what I mean apparently...

My family is from Van Buren so not like I cant talk shit if i want to, its my family's home town, and if I want to complain about the potholes, Its my right hahahaha

Im jus sarcastic as all hell, and dont really mean to offend anyone, but i know I will along the way.... cant make everybody happy all the time....

Whoooa, looky there, LIKE !!!!

I don't really have a problem with it being Frenchville north of Limestone.

Yeah I concur, we can't make everyone happy.

I don't know if anyone still checks in on this thread at all, but I'm glad I found it. My wife and I are planning to move to Maine. We're still not sure where to go. Looked into Burnham, Jackson, and I forget the other place. We're looking into buying a foreclosed home with some land and setting up shop. We wanted to be somewhere close to NY because of we both have family here, and I wanted to find a decent state with medical. I found this thread to be helpful because I'm going to do some research on the towns listed here. I do have a question for the people in here. How long do you have to reside in Maine before becoming eligible for a medical marijuana card? I looked on the application form and the application instruction form and didn't see anything about it. I also Googled it, but never found an answer there either. If someone could answer that for me, that would be awesome. Thanks.

I don't believe the law addresses it at all. Therefore, I'm sure that as soon as you are a legal resident and get a doctor's certification, you're good.

No time limit at all. I actualy got my cert. before I had a place in Maine. You do need to live in Maine to register with the state and get a card.

Thanks MaineYankee, but I haven't moved yet. Lol. We're still trying to find a nice house. I saw some nice foreclosures in a few different towns for $40-50k. Only need 5% down and end up with payments of like $200 a month. That's what I like. Lol. But I am glad to know that it won't take that long for me to get my med card. If we don't get a place in Jackson or Burnham, we were looking into Presque Isle. I saw someone mention it in an earlier post and my wife and I looked at some places there. Nice. But we're looking for a town smaller than that. Lol. We've done the city life, and we're currently living in a small town with under 1,000 people. That's what we wanna find in Maine. Some place quiet. I hope when we do move though, we will end up meeting some of y'all. I have been through some of the Maine threads on here and y'all seem like nice people. Reminds me of my good ole' Southern people. Lol. Hospitable and laid back.

Although Presque Isle, may "look big" its not, very homey and chilled place. I lived in Caribou for a bunch of years while taking courses at University of Maine @ PI. I will say its a long drive from there to NY though, did it a few times while up there. There is not much up there, but I would not think twice about moving back and raising my family up there, in fact I discuss it with my wife probably once a year. Peace

I'm in cumberland county, bout an hr north of portland. My whole town is like a postcard and my 15 year old son says he wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Last year we had a house fire and lost everything. The outpouring from our town was simply amazing. People seem to care about each other up here.

Well, I live only about 2 hours from Vermont, so it shouldn't be that long of a drive. Not as long as from here to West Texas. Lol. And I have actually been looking at foreclosures in PI. It's actually a nice sounding name for a town. We're gonna apply for HUD and get assistance, just until my wife can get a job. I'm gonna focus on doing my work from home job and improving my horticulture skills. I want to one day become a provider. For now though, I'm just gonna be a patient with patience.

So very sorry about the fire Villa. I too am amazed a lot of times with the outpouring of a community, as well as individuals, in a time of need. We may be simple folk up here, but neighbors helping neighbors, is def not a complex problem .... we "Just Do It !" :-)

Get a med card and grow it, or get a caregiver to grow it for you. That's all your gonna probably get for an answer around here, this is the medical forum.

Otherwise, refer to FAQ for Maine Patients, post #10. No offense intended.
