multiple strains in one DWC

I have been looking for seeds to start a DWC grow. The resevoir I plan to build will be able to hold roughly 6 plants. I just saw greenhouse's new coloured seeds. Would it be possible to grow 5 different strains like maybe HAWAIIAN SNOW SUPER SILVER HAZE LEMON SKUNK WHITE RHINO BIG BANG all in the same tank? I don't know if they would need different nutrient levels or anything. Lights won't be a problem

Hey bro the only intelligent answer i have for u on this subject is. When ur growing different strains in the same res.. Be sure to pick strains with the same finish time.
And once u do that then make sure the flower hieghts are also the same beacause the taller flowering plants or strains will beat out the smaller strains before u harvest.
Keep everything consistent and uniform..
This should be ur main objective even before u purchase ur beans and applied to building ur tub as well.
Make sure they all have there own net pot and evenly distrubute ur pots over the surface area of ur tub..

Yes i have grown 3 strains in one tub and made a mistake of mixing a sativa dominant strain with 2 indica dominant strains.. wasnt a complete failure but i learned alot from that grow.. The indica finished about 28 inches... The sativa finished about 5 foot tall..
Not a great way to grow plants as they all need the same respect from the start and equal lamp/cubic foot to make all this work.
Hope that helps.

I grew 2 different strains in a 6-seat bubbler from SH with the 400w hps.

Onthedl is right... pick the same flowering times. I got lucky and just picked 2 that were the same. I Didn't know squat... Still don't! haha...

I don't know if I'd have quite so many different strains going. Just in case they get too big. Mine are way too freakin' big and I have a really small one that probably won't produce much. Be careful.

Peace.

i would be much more concerned with the varying levels of ferts for different strains a good fert dose for a indica might kill a sativa.

Agreed, pick same flowering times, but the only drawback that I can offer, is that every strain has different nutrient requirements. Blueberry for one is very sensitive and one would be unwise to place her in the same system as say a og kush which is more tolerant. I use different systems for dif strains myself, easier to maintain

I would advise against it for the following reasons: different strains require different nutrient levels; you can't treat a problem with one plant without treating the others; if you're growing from seed and the roots comingle as you grow you might have trouble removing males or sick plants later; different strains grow to different heights.

If each plant has it's own res, you can raise the buckets on the shorter plants to keep an even canopy, remove or treat plants individually, adjust nutrients, etc.

And there is the issue of finishing times as well...

Indeed, had that problem the first time around with diff strains, some would finish earlier making it difficult to flush with a diff strain still requiring longer time to finish. least with separate res like you said, can finish each off at their respective times..easier to flush too.

Yeah that's the problem with single container multiple plants... it's good to start and get a decent root system going; but then you gotta get them out and into buckets or some kind of single containers... I just started some seeds and was debating if I should try to run them until I'm able to sex them but I'm thinking I gotta decide based on how crazy the roots get Day by day... im gonna push it as long as I can but once I get tangle-age I gotta split them up... I have 8 seeds in a 12 gallon tote; can't seeing them go until sexing but I'm gonna try...

lol didnt know if anyone would reply as its so old but thanks man, I know what you mean, I want to do a 2 plant monthly perpetual but at mo the big plant in pic (lsd) is turning into a real monster, I could only get 2 max of these in 1.2mx1.2m tent, not sure if the black domina which is more indica would be ok 2 in same res (from clones) as they are really short and bushy then do lsd on its own in its own res. I think that is prob what i will try as i have a bigger 75l res which is also longer than the one i have the 2 plants in on the pic and keep the 50l for single LSD. Not sure i like the idea of buckets as they dont hold as much water which will mean topping them up more often etc. So many things to think about lol
