The Jack that produced the seeds was not bad but not great...shall we say mediocre at best

I'm thinking like you ...J1 is toast, J2 may be worth keeping for awhile
If you don't mind me asking, How good was the weed that the bag seed came from?

Change of plan with the Jack's (again)....I'm going to give J1 a bit more time before tossing.

So just to be evil & cruel (which I so do truly enjoy), I have removed the offending leaves and now have it isolated in the CFL/LED room.

and J2 is back in the HPS room, stuffed in the corner, sitting on a few boxes

I'm going to leave it in the flower room as it obviously not reacting as an auto, so need 12/12 to kick it into flowering mode

I am surprized just how much they are stretching, (reminds me of my Mexican Sativa grow)

you are correct, the preflowers only started 10 days ago and they are nearly double as tall now

I had to lift my hood again this morning, I only have 6 inches left with this setup, so it looks like another room re-vamp coming up soon.

If it gets really bad, I can remove the planks from the bath-tub and allow the gals to sit on the bottom of the tub

As for lights....600 watts HPS is all they get. I may have to eventually keep the Jack's in the CFL/LED room (and sunshine) as space is becoming tight

I'm currently 11.5 on and 12.5 off but think of altering to 11/13....but not sure when is best to do this...your thoughts?

anyhow....don't think you will have issue with only one day of 22 hours of light...it will likely show no negative signs

cheers
Jus my 2cents n Experience on the light times....
I've never ran a timer or a strict on/off time...For example my on/off time for this grow is anywhere from 10-11 am lights on n 10-11 pm off...N that's give or take an hour here n there Either way...Some times they get a lil more dark n some days more light...I try n lean towards more days w longer dark period alotta days she'll get 13+ hours of darkness...I don't think it has to b as strict as alotta ppl may think...

I have played around with the amount of hours on my summer indoor sunshine grows, but generally speaking I do try to keep things as constant as possible, but maybe your're right that we don't really need to be so strict

yeah, the shits not having pic's, as without them the journal is rather boring

You know bottom line we are growing a weed. It just needs light water and food. We've found ways to make it grow faster and bigger, like hydro & specialized feeding (If we really knew the magic feeding system and NPK proportions there would only be one product on the shelf). But generally speaking most killings come from over care. Next would be long term use of a space.

a picture says a thousand words....so I guess I'll have to babble on without pic's

things are going okay but I did fuck up with "C" as it was shorter than the other two, so it was sitting on a cigar box to make it the same height as the others. I didn't notice the little gal stretched a few inches and got burnt by the HPS bulb....not overly bad but not sure how it will impact the outcome of the plant.

As for the fucking Jack's ....J1 is looking healthy again since I removed the infected leaves, but it's just not performing.
It started to preflower Jan 27, so by now it should have small buds forming, but not much is happening

J2 is looking really nice but yet is just not performing as an auto, thus has been in the 12/12 HPS room since Feb 5 and is just starting to show the first sign of a preflower.....time will tell on this one, but I'm not overly confident with it

anyhow....hope i can post pic's soon

cheers

well another update without pic's

as stated above C got slightly burnt, but recovered just fine....no signs of issues, the others are doing good

J1 is now looking not so bad, still skinny but doing okay...it still gets 20/4 and sunshine when available

J2 is forming buds now (still on 12/12 in the HPS room)...and some sunshine

I was worried that J2 was a hermie, but it was just calyx with pistils (I hope)

Hope we get to post pic's soon

updates

B - the tallest of the bunch
P3050012.JPG

C - I had to tie up her "arms" as they were getting to fat to hold up
P3050008.JPG

D - had to add a bamboo pole as it's getting too fat to stay straight ...I like that
P3050011.JPG

now the Jack Herer - J1 is doing okay considering it only gets the LED bulb room (and sunshine, which we have not has much this winter)
P3050005.JPG

J2 is really picking up...this is the healthiest plant of the bunch
P3050006.JPG

So since I tied up C & D, there is more available space for J2....so it's getting more direct HPS light now
P3050015.JPG

and had a few hours of decent sunshine yesterday evening

update on the gals.....I've never had the leaves turn a reddish colour and I'm thinking it may be from the cold weather, as the temps do drop lower than ideal at night..... it has been a cold long winter with limited sunshine....have not had decent sunshine for over a week, and won't be getting better soon.

Looks good ISK. The wimpy J2 has got some dense looking nugs. Looks like it was worth keeping.
I'm surprized with J2...you had more faith in her than I did....I was thinking of killing both Jack's LOL

J1 won't amount to much, but it's done not so bad for it's limited environment
