My 2x5x4ft and 2x3x3 perpetual grow.

So this is my first attempt at a grow journal. It'll kinda be a mix of what I've run in the past and the run I'm on now.
So my homemade mylar lined flower cabinet measures 2 ft deep, 5 ft wide, and 4 ft tall. I also have a veg cab that measures 2ft x 2ft x3 ft. Also lined in mylar. The smaller of the two is my veg cabinet.
So for lighting. My veg cab I run 6-23 watt cfl bulbs. 4 are 6000k and 2 are 2500k. My flower chamber is lit by a 150 watt hps and a 300 watt eq. Full spectrum led. Lights in the veg run 18/6 and in flower 12/12.
Ok ventilation in the little veg chamber is achieved by a 90 mm 12v pc fan I have inline a 4 inch metal flex duct. Outside this chamber I have a homemade activated charcoal coffee can filter. Inside I use a 45mm pc fan suspended for air circulation.
In the flower chamber I use a 4inch vortex fan rated at 190 cfm and a can filter I bought off ebay. I also have a small desk fan to move air in this chamber. My Temps get to about 76f in the flower chamber and the same in veg.
I also have a co2 production device using citric acid and baking soda which pushes co2 into the flower chamber at about 1 bubble/sec. I know it gets vented but I figure the ingredients are cheap enough I just run it in flower to help production.
I should also mention I run a separate cabinet for clones set up in a similar manner as my veg cab but only 2 23 watt cfl and a heat Matt and humidity dome. Venting the same as the veg cab.
So here's a couple shots of the veg and flower cabinet. I don't have a photo of the cloning one but will get one soon.

As for runs I've done about 9 different harvests using these cabinets. I've run Gorilla Glue, bag seed, pineapple kush, auto white lsd, and I'm currently on white widow and pineapple kush. So my 4 plans were started October 2nd. I soaked them.in water and paper toweled until the root was an inch long here they are all sprouted . I should mention I ran auto white lsd at the same time as these. Those are the ones in the 3 gal cloth and hard pot20161028_092423.jpg 20161028_092423.jpg20161028_092423.jpg 20161028_092319.jpg 20161028_092308.jpg 20161028_092257.jpg

As my autos got bigger I continued to top and lst my other plants that were vegging. I wanted to keep them short and bushy as I only have about 3 feet of space to grow during stretch from soil that is. I just harvested my two autos out of the cabinet and placed the other two in veg into my flower chamber. I flipped to 12/12 January 12th. I also untied all the lst ties and installed a Scrog net.

My two auto white lsd ladies yielded just over 2 3/4 oz. If that was all four plants that size harvested at the same time I estimate I can get roughly 6 ounces per harvest. Puts me at about .7 grams per watt on untouched and untrained autos

Maybe I'll tell a bit about the other parts of the grow. I use potting soil. HYPONICS is the brand. A add about 30 percent perlite to the mix to help with drainage.

I use tap water for watering as it had a ppm of less than 100. I usually ph my water to 6.8.
When I need to feed I use the GH 3 part. I also use GH calimagic for their cal/MG. And usually add Epsom salts to help boost it. I go on a water water feed schedule. And it usually takes about 3 days for my 3 gal pots to dry out enough.

I'm curious if I add a bloom booster will that possibly push my yields closer to that 1 gram per watt? Or sugars. I never really tried.

I have also dabbled a bit into hydroponic dwc. I currently have a homemade bubble cloner and two site dwc setup I made. I ran two small plants last year and got only about 1 Oz. So I now have 4 clones going in the bubble cloner. The next run I'm planning on one white widow soil and one in hydro side by side in the same environment. Same with the pineapple kush.
I figure after this harvest my clones will have vegged for around 90 days, making small little shrubs. And I'll repeat the process all-over.
Along the way I plan on popping new beans of ak-47 and thc bomb while eliminating my least favorite pheno of white widow and pineapple kush.

Well today is the 24th of January. There is good news and bad news to report. The bad news is, one of the pineapple kush plants is a boy. So he's been quarantined. I plan on following through with flowering and collecting the pollen to produce seeds for further runs.
So the news of PK 2 being a male means I pulled 3 clones and eliminated them. I'm a bit upset with thisn as one clone that was in my bubble cloner, and was doing best, had to die. But I did re-clone the pineapple kush that is 2 weeks into flower.
As for the other 3 Plants, White widow x2 and pineapple kush, they are coming along great. The stretching isn't quite what I expected for the first 2 weeks, but the stacking is looking good.
I'm still using the late veg nutes and will now gently switch over to a bloom formula. I raised the lower plants closer to the net, and spread them out. I also did some lollipopping today, removing over a third of the lower growth. I hope to get 2 Oz a piece off these 3 scrogged ladies.

Yes I have run into height issues. More of over vegging issues due to rotation times.
Usually to help with my height limitation, I grow my plant until it has 3 nodes then top her. I then lst those two tops down and after 2 more nodes top again. Almost in a main line fashion without removing the 2 lowest branches. Those 2 branches I have grown right up the middle as the space is otherwise void due to the main lining.
So when I flip to flower I try to stay around 14 " of plant height. During the stretch in the past I would simply adjust the tie down points and maintain that relative 14" or so.
So there in lies one of my issues which brings the scrog net into play. While moving my tie down points, the middle of all the action, where the main 2 tops split almost always breaks.
So to remedy this I decided to remove all ties a week before flower let her relax a bit, take her bra off so to speak, and veg into the net. During this part I'll maintain most tall branches and tops under the net and allow those shorter ones to stretch up.
So far I'm 16 days in flower with these 3 ladies and so far so good.

I would throw a piece of duct tape on there to stabilize that joint. Next time when you train, train in the opposing direction (back toward the stem) and it helps to keep those kind of joints from splitting..

Ya know if tried tapes of all kinds and it seems to make the stem all soggy and rotten looking. I now tie the break gently together until it heals, then remove the tie. It sucks because I know it shocks the hell outta them!
I was looking into maybe adding some sort of silicate to my feeding to help keep the stems more plyable. But on the other hand I don't want them to flop over and need to be tied up. A problem I've never had.

Well some things are about to change in the garden. First off I ordered a diy led veg light. I also rewired my boxes so I don't need 2 power strips to power them. Lastly I'm gearing up for a run in some dwc hydroponic.
My flower chamber is going good. I collected pollen of my quarantined pineapple kush male. I selected 2 branches on the pk female and pollinated them about a week ago. Upon investigation those 2 branches buds, now have orange hairs suggesting successfull pollination. I'm about 35 days along now. I switched to flower nutrients at 21 days and I'm upping my bloom booster every watering until I reach 5ml per gal.
Veg is going good. The 2 white widow clones I first took are doing good. They could use a transplant into one gallon pots. I will be doing that this week. I also have a white widow clone using my bubble cloner. So hence the up and coming dwc. Roots are growing out of control in there.
In about 35 or so days all 3 plants in flower should be able to be harvested. I will then pop beans of thc bomb and my own strain I crossed last year.
I'll upload pics when that feature becomes available.
