This one I have got huge under the HPS. More terps n frost under the LEDs though. Deffinetly allot more bud per watt too.
What's SIPS again? Think you told me awhile back. Forgot.

Yes sir the Autos are going in both tents with (4) cuts of SBA in veg........about to take off the roots hit the res of the SIP, and I refilled today.

SIP= Sub Irrigated Planter. To explain it VERY simply, I have two 5 gallon buckets, the bottom holds the water (res) the top has the soil and the plant. The roots grow down to the water, and water is whicked" up from the res as a plastic cup with holes sits into the res before you fill the top bucket with soil. No need top PH anything, or for nutes if your soil mix is good. Just plain freaking tap water. You water more frequently but it's as simple and cheap as a grow can get bro. Remember my Northern lights I showed you? She was grown in a SIP. With my health up and down all the time I am just simplifying my grow so if I need a day or two away everything doesn't go to shit. Plus the hydro setup would be too much work for me with no water source in this room. That's a VERY simplified explanation.

@Humanrob has a thread in the indoor growing section on SIP's there's a ton of info and ideas in there. I would have made them bigger with tupperware tubs or plastic buckets but "for me" in my situation the 5 gallon buckets work perfectly. It's what fits me best for this grow.

The transition for you would be stupid easy and cheap to DIY (if I can do it you can) because you're using 5 gallon buckets already. Imagine just setting your current buckets in another one that holds the water. And you don't need R/O, no EC, no PH none of that shit. Straight tap water and the plant waters herself. You just keep and eye on the level and fill it. Some holes to drill but nothing too hard bro.

All very dense w/ crazy terps. My scrubber's in tears right now.
One of the Flos started to grow again but the other seamed to have shit the bed.

Everything prior to this was just trail runs. Very happy! Gotta be well over a plate a plant using the Pro-4's & SE-450.

How come you wouldn't need to ph it or anything? Im using RO cuz I thought my tap was suspect but am considering trying it out. Just tough for me to do anything new.
Wanna try Jacks nutes but would want to compare it to my current stuff. That would mean a separate Rez. n mix.
My Rez is 30gall every feed. Hard to try new things.
How's things? Wanna update us here on your work bro? I know your comparing your QB n COBS right?

Ok so to explain it as simply as I can and bare with me............The plant takes what it needs from the soil.....the roots grow down and find the water, then mother nature takes it's course. There is an adjustment sometimes with sensitive strains, the most important thing is NOT to feed/water from the top. Let mother nature do her thing. People freak and when they're almost there start adding shit up top FAIL. I can show you pics of my SBA I threw them from hydro to SIP's and they couldn't look better. 30 gallon res and you would be chilling. R/O is not necessary once the plants takes the water on her own because she just takes what she needs from the soil. You can feed if you need to or top dress but it's just sooo much simpler. I am usually more articulate but bud testing tonight.

Things are good bro, well as good as can be all things considered right. I am testing QB vs AutoCob, but my first run had some learning curve, first time no HID so nervous as fuck. The SBA will be the run I will use for my thread on that. Both parties were made aware and know why and it's all on me. As for pics you know I don't do that in other threads unless asked, just out of respect to the OP's, if you look close to my posts I usually do small pics too in others threads.

BUT, lemme know and I will post here whatever you like I got some nice pics tonight. Was a busy day in my small garden. Getting dialed in...........

Had to make an addition to the veg room today. Boy did I miss using the MH Daylight Blue. We'll see how it does next to the Hydroponics Hut.never have ran them actual side by side. image.jpgPut 2 Horizons together for the small girls. Some of them are real weird looking. The OBB's & Kings were monster cropped almost 2 wks into flower. Now I see why it's called monster cropping. Wonder if they'll ever grow out of it? Hu. image.jpg

So, the roots do grow into the bucket of soil too right? The soil must get wicked to stay moist. I need to read more about it. Looks awesome though.
You never finished a grow w/ the Tasty or The big Cob light w/ Silicone lenses? What happened to that one? That was a nice light.

Thats so cool! You & Evil got it right w/ this hydro medium set up. Air stone in w/ the roots too. Wow, I'm deff gonna look into it.
When I first started growing I thought about building something like that, n now to see it done, is so cool.

@captainmorgan has much more experience on the SIP's than I do. I learned a lot from the guys in the thread I linked you. It's just going back to what works best for me. Hydro growth with soil as the medium. Yes the bucket is wicked I have a solo cup that sits in the res. I want to try coco as the wick medium next grow to see how that goes.

Here's my current pics like I just took these right now, the two Satori males are intentional and will be used for my first breeding project soon:

The COB's I built were sold to a fellow grower who is enjoying them with great success from the feedback I was given. My Blue MH and 1K HPS are in the closet in boxes right now first all LED grow for me. Kinda nervous bro for real. New environment from the move, new lights, and new to me strains not the best. For my log I will soon throw the SBA in the SIP's from veg to flower and have clones that vary less and get a better run with both light setups I have had a small learning curve with the LED, and the first run is not fair to both companies who make the lights. It was on me not their product and I'm not embarrassed to admit it!

The next run will be it

Brother @OneHitDone and I have a "friendly" wager on that run under the LED's, I am to hit a certain yield for him to buy LED's and leave HPS! So it's important to me. My entire three space grow right now in lighting is running only 615 watts at the wall not including the fans etc, just lights.
