My first time in flower. a question about pruning.

hi. im 4.5 weeks into flowering and i wanted to know the advantages and disadvantages to cutting off the very bottom buds. not all of them. just like one or two.

the reason i wanna do this is cuz they dont get much light anyway and the hairs are turning brown and i thought i read somewhere if you cut off the bottom buds the plant sends more energy to the cola or something. but will this stunt the plant at all? thanks in advanced

Yes I would advise cutting them off. It may take the plant a day to continue growing strong, but ultimately worthwhile

thank you. i wasnt sure if the stress from it would outweigh the good. i already pulled 2 fan leaves today. the were dying and whilted so should i wait a couple days to cut those off?

My personal philosophy would be to get all stressful things at onced to give it ample time to heal and continue as opposed to continually interupting it

i agree to get it done . but keep it minor- no major surgery here during flower or you will be sorry. luck

ok cool. so in total i just ended up cutting off 2 dead/dying lower fan leaves and 1 lower stem that wasnt getting light anyway. too much?

not all true...mine was 4 weeks into flowering when i chopped all but 4 fan leaves... all those leaves are doin is coverin up light for your buds... chop em..your buds will explode with growth after doing so...

ehhh... i think i need a second opinion before i try that out

The leaves don't cover the light, they soak up the light. The leaves are how the light is processed. Less leaf = less growth.

yeah thats what i was thinking too. im still fairly new to this so i needed someone else to confirm what i was thinking.

Its a never ending debate. Ive tried the bending the leaves outa the way thing and it aint to shabby. shoots strat growin funny and it comes back to block other growing tip's. I think it;s each leaf for itself meaning, sometimes one bigass leaf could potentioally be blocking more than one bud site in which case I'd bounce it otherwise jus kinda bend

pay attetion to your plants and they will tell you what they want... lol... every plant is different.
