My first White Widow grow

Let me preface by saying this is my first grow.

That's what I've got. I also have a 400watt MH light, fermentation co2 generator, and all the necessary fans/exhaust. Right now 3 plants have germinated in the rockwool cubes that i've got in a glass bowl with 2 inches of nutrient water(highly diluted nutrients).

My questions are:
1) when should I move them into my system? One plant has about a 1 inch root already growing through.

2) When I do move them into my system how high should the water be?

3) Does airflow matter? My pump has an adjustment knob.

btw what is this even called? DWC or bubbleponics? I have NO IDEA what my system is even referred to as.

As always thanks in advance!

1) Most people ususally put them in the hydroton when roota poke through.. You might have to water the cubes for a few days until the roots reach water level in your resevoir.

2) The water should be about a 1/2" from the bottom of your net pots. (It can even be touching the bottom of the pots)

3) The more bubbles, the more oxygen which is better Id turn it all the way up.

Hope this helped a bit good luck i am building the same setup.

DWC and Bubbleponics are basically the same thing, call it either.

Oh and also if your light ballast is made for hps and mh bulbs you might consider getting a hps bulb for flowering, a lot of people use this cycle bu mh will work the whole way through if needed.

You can move them now.

2) When I do move them into my system how high should the water be?
1-2" from the bottom of the net pots is good. You'll have to pour nute solution thru the cups 2X/day at least., until the roots get their feet wet.

3) Does airflow matter? My pump has an adjustment knob.
You want it to bubble up to provide O2 & moisture to the roots.

You have a DWC unit. A bubbleponic unit has a water pump, a difuser and tubes that trickles water & air into the pots to keep the roots hydrated, oxyginated & fed. (If you had a Bubble Ponics unit, you wouldn't have to pour nutes thru the grow cups.)

Excellent guys. I went ahead and moved them yesterday but had my water level way too high. Thanks a million.

I am just starting out here, but I would think applying the nutes directly to the plant would cause nute burn.

I've got an 18 gallon tote going with seedlings starting to sprout. If I put the nutes into the water, the plants wouldn't be getting the nutrients efficiently?

What he meant was mix up the nutrient solution in a jug at the appropriate strengths. Pour that water over your hydroton/net pots. It is important to be very careful and not mix the nutrients in to strong as that would kill your plants. I use GH Flora nutrients so I cut in half what they recommended for seedlings.
