My Grow Cab Design - Couple ?'s (illustration included)

Hey RIU, I'm new here and have spent way too much time here the past couple weeks...but I've learned a ton!

I am currently in the design phase of building a fairly stealthy grow cab, but have a few questions and would love any other input you have before I start cutting the boards...

This will be my first grow and am simply going to start with some Lowlife Ak47/Diesel seeds I just got, but am planning my Cab for the future once I get the hang of things...



I am trying to figure out a few dimensions still and could use your help. I'm trying to keep this thing as short as possible, without sacrificing too much.

-On a SoG or Scrog grow, what would be the ideal minimum height for the flowering chamber? (Even better, average height from base to tip)

-How tall does my mother chamber need to be?

-Is there any reason to keep my mother and clones/veggers in seperate chambers? (Combine my bottom chambers into one)

i would put the mother in its own cab. dont want any males gettin her prego... lol and the mother would be to tall most likely for that design. but hey im new to this s**t also so im not MJ certified lol

The clones will only be in veggin, so no real way to get her prego...

I feel like I've seen mother cab's only 2ft tall b/c you are continually trimming clones off her, keeping her from getting too big....is this true?

First of all, if yer cloning from a mother, ya wont have ANY males! A clone is 100% the sex of what ya cloned it off, unless ya stress out yer clones enough to hermie! So, yer good on where yer mom is! Next, yer gonna want those CFL's damn near IN yer plants fer veg and flower! I kept mine w/in 1" fer the entire time! Next, ya wanna have the fan on yer veggin girls runnin so that they are moving in the breeze, this will help strengthen yer stalks and make them bigger!

If you don't want the mother plants to get too tall, you can always top them.

Where the hell - Yea the lights will be fully adjustable to keep them within a few inches.

Looks like my max height is going to be about 5.5 feet, so that it'll fit into my roommates closet just in case the parents decide to make a surprise visit :S

This should allow the mother/veg chamber to be 2ft tall and the flower chamber to be about 3.25 feet tall.

Got my seeds and fans today...lights tomorrow. Construction should begin later this week.

right on man i will be watching ....i believe you dont need to seperate the mother from the clones but the light will be hard to get down to th clones with the mother towering above them ya know.......and then think about the flowering area how heavy thats going to be you might want to have that wall under neath for more support so it does not sag.....looks like you thought this threw only way to go......
