my homegrown organic weed tastes weird

well ive been growin the ak48 from nirvana, just trying my first bit of it through my new bong and it tastes like perfume, or soap, it tastes like ive eaten a bar of soap.
ive been using biobizz grow/bloom/alg-a-mic at recommended levels, JI#3 in final pots with 20% perlite, plants went for 54 days under 100w of hps and dried over 10 days until ready for the cure. so basically ive done everything as usual except i cant stand the taste of my weed. all my other weed has tasted good before this. this is my first organic crop. any ideas why it tastes like toxic chemicals? is it my new bong? tasted ok the other day and ive cleaned it, maybe ak-48 just tastes really bad? at least its very strong shit, you dont need to endure much smoking of it

don't know its not the ak48 i've grown it and although its not the best taste in the world its fine. i've smoked but that kind of smelt and taste a bit of washing powder, maybe something to do with how your storing it or curing it?

well its not gone in for the cure yet, but it was slow dried till the branches snapped in a dark room at about 20c. i didnt flush though, because ive read you dont need to flush organic weed, so maybe its that

no but i did quite a lot of foliar feeding with algamic, does taste like seaweed.

but here i have to say this is also my first time using a seperate uvb bulb and my mind keeps playing weird time tricks on me, and i keep thinking its 11:30 when its 8:30, and i keep thinking im in a different room.

just water cure it even if has already been cured, it wont smell and you will lose some weight but it makes the bud more potent

possibly mildew? i had a bag from a guy left his crop hanging in his basement to dry and it got mildewy and it kind of tasted like a dryer sheet. we called it soap weed lol. but, it might be mildew or mold.

this is quite possible, the strain grow is quite soapy and a couple others i've had were soapy.

i did pick up some organic goods the other day that tasted like seaweed and pine needles all mixed up, i thought that was weirder than my soapy dank...

different weed has diffrent curing times...some take forever it seems...also, I'd get at least a 400watt. 100watts just makes fluffy weak weed. the more leaf and the less dense takes longer to cure...some weed, like kushes or hashplants can get away with minimal curing.

Did you foliar feed all the way through? Because if you did... That could be the source of your taste. I wouldn't recommend foliar feeding with anything the last couple weeks. Especially if it was more than water. Your smoking your foliar feed. Not good.

The herb i have right now taste just like perfume.Iv had herb that did taste like soap before but not the extreme soapiness your describing, and it deffinatly was not ak-48. The ak-48 i come across taste exactly like a ginger bread cookie, its quite possibly the tastiest herb iv ever tried. Too bad it rarely comes around :( Sounds like your problem is steming from the fact that you didnt flush your weed(naughty naughty) and you foliar fead to late into their life cycle. Even if it is organic, its always a good idea to flush at least two weeks before harvest.I had an organic crop that i didnt flush because the authorities were on to me and i had to chop em early; thankfully not to early. It was dank and all, but it left a strange after taste that i didnt really enjoy.

Ok thanks everyone for the input, i will definatly flush next time and leave out the foliar completely and see what the difference is, im currently growing ak-48 again and i'll be back with another report on the new smoke.
its strong weed though and very trippy with slight visual distortions, not to mention it finishes in about 50 days. so its aint all bad!
its gets me high so thats the main thing.
peace

Its probably the flush, you should have a minimum 7 day flush to wash out the nutes and toxic salts.

Pepsicola.... I hate to tell you this, but foliar feeding during flowering is a no no. At the very time, Mary is producing trichromes like crazy - it the worst time to foliar feed. During this time of growth, the trichromes act just like Velcro - holding onto whatever you spray on them & not letting go.
.
I never foliar feed after preflower, to avoid this very thing - plus to lessen the possibility of bud mold. Sorry to be the bear of bad news....
.
A water cure, might improve the taste, with frequent water changes....
.
Keep it Real....
