Hey guys.

I've been reading alot here but never posted anything. Now it's time to show you my first grow! Iv'e made a ghetto light using a 187 watt Meanwhell driver and some 4000k citizen cobs. It's sitting in a 55x55x190cm small cabinet. I have no ventilation yet, but it'l come soon.(Tomorrow).
It's not a pretty setup but i have high hopes!

What do your think? Is there something i could improve?

It's not that bad. You've got way more room than what I started out using. Something I didn't really give all that much thought to. Until after I realized I wasn't going to be able to fit the plant, light and scrubber gear all in the same box.

If you're only growing one plant in there. I'd suggest looking into either manifolding or scrog netting. Get your plants nice and wide first. Then let them get taller. It'll likely give you more buddage for the area.

I personally like to manifold my plants. Plus it looks really cool seeing a swathe of fat colas in your grow space. Kinda like a big stoney bouquet of ganja.

Update time!

I've managed (somehow..) to make a new door for my closet. It should help with the ventilation. I'll be adding fans to the vent holes as soon as i can. It's not pretty but i think it's going to work!

As for doing scrog, i've considered it but i don't know. I will definitely be doing lst of some kind.
My little baby is doing great. She popped up yesterday and grew a cm over night. It has really surprised me how much i like nursing my little baby. I keep checking up on her multiple times a day. :D

Looks like a decent setup bro. How is that gorilla tape handling the heat from that driver? Pop some screws in the slots on the driver and be done with it!

You're off to a really good start. Those vents should be fine

Looking like a decent little setup man. Definitely mount that driver with something more secure, over time that tape will give way. You don't want to be under that driver if it comes down. Keep us posted!

Thank you for the kind words!

I have some questions.
I've had some trouble maintaining my humidity. I've tried hanging a wet towel in my closet but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Is there a cheap and affordable way to increase humidity and maintaining it at a desired level?

Also how do i know when to transplant this baby?

7 days old now :D

10 days old now. Growth have been steady and fast. I checked the roots today to see if it's time to transplant yet. It isn't. I could only see a small amount of root in the bottom, so i'm going to let it sit for aleast another couple of days.

Iv'e been having some trouble getting my temps down. If i run my light at 100% intensity my temps rise to 29C (84F). I have one exhaust fan pushing 150cfm, but i doesn't seem to be enough. So iv'e turned down the light to 80% and temps are around 28C. I hope later when the light is higher in the closet that the exhaust fan will have a better time venting the hot air.

Any ideas on how to lower temps, other than using a bigger fan?

When do you think it's time to add nutes? Is it best to just wait after iv'e transplantet? I'm using Biobizz Allmix soil.

These are the first two things to check out when dealing with temps. May need to make the intake vent bigger. Start using nutes when you feel it has used up most nutrients that came in the soil.

I never have heat issues at all . I got a two desk fans in my grow cab .and just have a big fan moving air all around my room to the living room .my door always stays open .its amazing how if you use fans efficiently it disperses a lot of heat

Sorry for not posting i a while, just got a new job :D

The heat problem is fixed! I did nothing :D The weather hasn't been as hot and the temps have been below 28C with 100% light. So all is good!

Today i noticed a lovely new smell in my bedroom. I guess it's time for some odor control. Is there any DIY options out there that's worth recommending?

16 days old now! I noticed during the weekend some of the bottom leaves was getting yellowish, so i transplantet it and gave it it's first feeding. Looks great now! :D

Looking good bro. Congrats on the job.

Depends what your budget is. I just bought a 4" extractor and filter kit for $124. Or you could grab a high pressure fan and a small pencil tin. Cover the tin with a thin layer of fabric. Make a sock. Fill the sock with activated carbon. That's like an under $100 option.

I think im going to try it out, but it'll have to wait until the weekend.

My baby is growing crazy fast! But i feel like the growth might be too much. There is a lot of leaves not getting light. But i guess that's a first world problem :D

Should i cut some of the lower leaves?

Happy growing!

No, leave it alone and just let it grow. No need to remove leaves at this point.

I know why my plant is so bushy. The bottom node somehow managed to grow out and become a new top. Almost all the nodes are tops.

My plant is growing more sideways than upwards :D
