Update:

I just read on another forum and had a registered patient in my town confirm that Dr. Higgins received death threats and that is the reason for her stopping MMJ recommendations. I feel horrible for the poor woman, one of the few in the state that would write a recommendation scared off by a nutjob.
Wow. For refusal to certify presumably?

Dr. Higgins is not doing MMJ recs at all or not taking new patients? Wondering if i need to scramble to get in with Sulak...

It is utterly ridiculous that there are so few (perhaps none now?) who are willing to certify. The situation cannot continue forever, there will be mass non compliance with the law. Hopefully it will work itself out, with more docs willing or some kind of change in the law.

I called dr Sulak Jan 3rd... I had an office visit on march 23rd, and recieved my authorization ( not the card, but the paperwork) on april 5th.

Is anyone able to tell (ballpark) me the waiting period for recieving the card in the mail ?

Yeah, except "they" happen to be someone that does know; for sure.

Sulak is taking patients again starting May 1 from the same source.
I agree, its a shame that there are folks out there that ruin it for others... someone had recomended dr higgins to me in the past although i had already pre paid Dr Sulak.

FWIW, Section 2425 of the new law describes this. The department has 30 days to approve or deny after receiving an application or renewal. Once approved, they have 5 days to provide the card. It's been taking longer than that, but that is what the law says.

Yeah, it's new. I am inclined to cut 'em some slack...for a while lol. Given what they're charging for registration, especially a caregiver, I would expect they would staff up to meet the requirements of the law too. I applied as a patient in Dec, got the card early Feb I think. I have a caregiver application pending now, been about 5 weeks. I expect it'll come within the next couple weeks.
