You are too kind. I feel there's lots of room for improvement lol.

She's probably getting chopped and hung to dry today.
There is always room for improvement whoever you are. Just because you're striving for perfection. You still need to recognise the smaller achievements on the way. And Motoko is an achievement for you.

Yay for harvest. Boo to trim jail. Glove up brother haha

This part of the thread is about Frankenstein the light.
I had this light laying around in the shop. It was a 60 dollar home depot special... LED commercial toffer. I opened here up a few months back curious about what she had in her. Turns out she had two Samsung Acuity Double strips 2700k Driven at a nice soft 675ma. So I started using her in a tent on a cauliflower to see if she had it. Worked well enough but of course was lacking power. I added two t5 fixtures I had laying around the house not being used. Thus Frankenstein began her journey as my breeding tent light.

So Frankenstein pulled off veg like the 98 watt rock star she is. Only to fall short 3 weeks into flower.
clean up LT.jpgjust another training day

LT structure day 29.jpg
This was right before she was pulled and a few stalks were pollinated. Pretty cool for a 98 watt light I thought. She earned some respect from me. But her journey was only beginning.....

Me being me......... decided it would be awesome to max this light out with Bridgelux or Samsung strips. Been following Led tech since it came out but never trusted it till this new age tech hit the market. Then I said fuck it I'll just throw one or two quantum boards in here and relocate the strips to the 45 deg walls. All the while getting ready to buy a some Bridgelux strips in 4000-5700K. Well, Since she got replaced with a 600hps I had laying around it was the perfect time to get her rolling. Of course plans have changed and there are 4 Quantums on their merry way now. :hump:
Today we got the ball rolling. Just waiting for the boards and sinks and I'll continue the updates here until she is finished.

First we needed to trim 3/4" off the lips to make sure we weren't blocking any of these boards fantastic output. Easy peezie.
light 4.jpg light 3.jpg
Then I Drilled and tapped the boards to the outer walls. And mocked em up.
light 2.jpg

Now we can order strips with a nice measurement complete. Drivers will all be top mounted Since I could use a few more degrees in this tent.

So my whole deal here is... Sure I can go out into the shop and build a complete fixture with the press and break, welder all that jazz.
But, I wanted to do this as a option for those that might not have the tools or skills to build a fixture. There are other cheap options out there. This took me around 30 min. All you need is a drill and tap or use self tapping hardware. Either tin snips or a cut off blade on some tool of your choice or leave the fixture stock. It would be just fine. Best part here. If you really had to air cool it it would be extremely easy to do so.

Now that I explained why I'm using this stock lamp as a starting point lets break some numbers out.
600 watts of Qb's and heat sinks $360 to the door
driver 110. Depending on if you want to push them to the max
51 watts of strips, driver and light housing $60
We have enough space here to run 6 more strips @ $7.41 each. Watts around well doesn't really matter and I'm not finding anything on it other than 159 lm/w haha
Another driver for the strips 20-30 bucks I'm thinking.
So lets just call this a 700-750 watt light at max. If what I have been seeing from some rad led builders this should keep up or blast out a low temp alt to a DE straight up. At least in this small space.
Cost Under $600

Let's see what she can do.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I'm on the hunt for a separate driver to power 4 citiled 1212 clu038 5000k just to keep that sativa stretch down ;) could do with some input on far reds if you have any knowledge bro

Been thinking about some reds  She's gonna have a decent spectrum at first. Just not a lot of multi spec penetration with the strips and t'5s. That's fine with how I grow and chop though.
Gonna run her up for a cycle and see what she has. Then onto fine tuning. I went way overboard on this with future builds in mind. I'm a fan of over building then dialing it down and using the extra's on new projects and spaces as they are someday built haha

I've seen a bit of work with an hour of reds after lights out and the anecdotal evidence seems to indicate resin and Terpene production is increased by around 20%. I wouldnt mind having a crack at it and seeing if it makes a difference. I think it would be possible to run a driver parallel to the hlg320 and apv12 12 with a timer hard wired into the circuit. For the reds. I'm thinking more about the care of what I'll be running rather than the light build itself.

Don't forget about the reason far reds showed up in the first place. The speed up of the overall flower cycle ;)

I only document my time for other people's benefit bro. I don't mind waiting myself. It's dense sticky buds I'm after. No matter how long that takes. I did post on my wwxbb thread earlier. (hope you don't mind me posting here. If you do I'll remove it) DSC_0635.JPG
That's a single Cola on a twice topped wwxbb at day 34 :)

yum :weed:
And no I don't mind. People can post whatever they like here. All good in my hood
I've got 2 plants showing a big bud pheno. One showing a white widow pheno. And not too sure on the nlxc yet. Gonna throw a drivac in soon as the buds start swelling and keep the humidity as low as possible.

All I can think about is this bodhi run now bro

That's some tasty looking frost. She's a dainty thing bless her
lost around 4 weeks of flower time I guessing. This is my most tk leaning pheno outta the previous 5 from the looks of here. But we will see.
Hopefully I can get those little ones out your way today. Mondays are always hectic at work. So we shall see

Mondays are awful wherever you are in the world bro. No pressure anyway just when you're ready. I'm looking for the rest of the bits to get another tent setup solely for bodhi under my cob. Might still have to run another tent with hps though. And then cam have whatever going on In the experitent ha

Got a pack of GG4 x LBL testers S1 fem that I'm throwing your way to keep ya tided over until the rest of the seeds are sexed and ready to roll. Starting From regular seeds is a whole different ball game time wise and well worth it in my humble opinion

I'm less enthusiastic about growing the gg4 x lbl. Not gonna lie to you. I was more excited to get a bodhi regular run going but i will definitely have a go with them. I might see if I can order anything bodhi In the meantime cos Its in my head how I wanna run it already :)
Either way it's still very much appreciated bro
