My setup.. if thats what u call it..

Ok it's like this, over the past 2 weeks or so i've really wanted to start growing some babies my mate gave me a few seeds which he got when he picked up a smoke, but they were shit so i didnt bother. anyhoo i got some cheap seeds off the internet and started growing them in this pathetic little tank I had, with like a 50W fluroscent light and... well lets just say all they did was poke there heads up and then bugger off back underground. so I went to my local hydroponics store (well it's like 10miles away but its local enough for me) and this guy set me up with a 400W HPS Bulb, Hood and Ballister for £60 and he also recommended a few fertilisers. either way I bought this Formulex fertiliser, they guy knew I was asking for and got me this, my first question is, is this fertiliser any good? put some on my babies this morning and literally only just finished getting my setup all good and proper.


Right, i'm gonna ask for some advice here, I cant hang the hood from my garage roof because it's weak timber and I dont wanna risk my light smashing on the floor or worse, my plants

So i made this little box which holds my light, hood and also has an area underneath for a nice pot. I had to do this in paint because my garage is too dark for my camera.

And this is sat on my garage floor, and right next to it is a crate which i have my pots on (which are empty at the minute cuz my plants aint big enough)

Ok well I dont know if this is gonna have the desired effect, i mean it was going to go in my bedroom but the light is just too damn bright

But anyway here's some piccies if u wanna give me some advice on how to move things around (sorry garage is a tip) oh and the camera is strobed because it cant handle all the light

Edit: yeah i know they're kinda tiny pots so must I water them quite alot? they're like 2"x2" ...

oh btw there's 11 seeds and only 4 have sprouted germination isnt my strong point...

got bored so made a 3d image of my setup

ok

1. you have to get your light on top of your plants, or they are just going to grow very odd

2. your seedlings should be under a softer light like the 50 watt floro you started out with. There just going to burn from the heat of the hps

3. you shouldnt be using tinfoil or wood as a hood if anything build a fram from the wood to hold up the hood

4. if your going to use the same light for grow and flower start your seeds in the biggest pots your going to use, this would help with the shock of transplanting

5. remember you have to keep it dark during the flowing stage

what i mena by dark...12 hours light and 12 hours dark to make the plant flower during the dark period it has to be DARK! no light at all

I dont have much to say that will help, but i think 3d images are like the future of helping with grow room problems. You have a very nice one by the way. and i hope you do good on your grow
