My Simple Setup

Hi everyone,
here are a few pics of my plants. I got a very basic setup until i get paid next week the thing is i have no idea what strains the plants are as they are bag seed and thought i'd have a shot at growing them so wish me luck.
The compost i'm using Gem john innes no 3 and i have 2 cfl's colour 2700 (warm white) and i'm going to buy a few 5000 k daylight cfl's when i get paid. I would use MH or HPS but the police helicopter has a regular route over my village understandably i don't wanna risk getting busted for the sake of a few plants so the cfl's will have to do  . I also have a timer set to 18/6 and a small heater to keep the room at the right temp, i plan to water the plants with the rain water i've collected and when i start using nutes i'm going to use CHEMPAK fully balanced feed (N-P-K 20-20-20) it has the trace elements like Boron 0.02%, Copper 0.01%, Iron 0.20%, Manganese 0.02%, Molybdenum 0.002% and Zinc 0.05%.
Any questions or criticism are welcome.
Anyways hope to get this off the ground :peace: Pliskin095:peace:

P.S. sorry the plant pics aren't that clear they were taken with a mobile phone and the coke bottle and pipes are a make do C02 system for the plants.

I like the setup but the hydropnics in it looks more than simple. How does it pump water, water the roots, drain.. i never understood hydroponics

Like i said they aren't hydroponics, the bottle has bakers yeast, sugar and water in it and the top of the bottle is sealed so the C02 travels down the pipes directly to the plants, thats all the pipes are there for and i water the plants by hand

Just a quick update on the plants as i said before i don't know what strain the seeds are they were a mix of bag seed, but looking at the plants today the plant in the white bucket is a solid green colour and the other plant is green with a purple trim around the edges of the leaf's, i'll keep the post updated and stick a few more pics on soon once they've grown abit more.

Hi all just a quick update on the plants they are now 1 week old, i'm not going to use nutes on them for another week. I've bought another 2 CFL's so now each plant is recieving 250 watts, there is a small ocillating fan in the corner aswell as a heater behind me.

P1 is a pic of the plant in the left pot
P2 is obiously the plant on the right
Pots are shown with lighting
The bottle and pipes with the c02 were re-done yesterday,so far the plants seem to respond well to it but time will tell.
Any suggestions, advice or critisism are welcome
Peace out

Hi all,
Updating now i actually got my cam to work anyway here's a few pics of my plants at 2 weeks and 1 day since the seed casing split, i gotta ask though are my plants and their size ok for their age?
I'm using rainwater on the plants and i'm gonna start use nutes next week.
I'm checking the lights everyday and moving them up keeping a gap of an inch between the top of the plants and my cfl's.
Any advice or critism would be great thanks
Peace out

Hi all,
i'm gonna post 2 replies, first 1 has pics of plant number 1 and the other post will have pics of plant 2. i emptied my C02 bottle and refilled it and the plants really seem to respond really well to it.
The last plant i tried to grow ended up a total mess (root bound, over watered and over nuted) so i'm chuffed with the progress of these 2 plants, i have to say thanks for all the info and help i've received and i'm sure the plants would be grateful to lol.
Hopefully the plants will carry on growing at their current rate and come harvest time i'll have some quality produce :D , the local smoke isn't the best so i'm hoping this will live up to expectations.
Anyways here's the pics of the first plant
any info or feed back would be greatly appreciated
thanks again for taking time to look at my grow journal,
Peace out

Hi all,
just a quick question about the stems on my plants, do they look thin? or are they fine? any help or advice with my plants would be great as these are the first plants i've grown that have done so well and i really don't wanna cock it up because of something that could have easily been averted. i started using a spray bottle on my plants and i've adjusted the nozzle on it so the water comes out as a very fine mist (using rainwater), i spray them every now and then as to not over water them.
These pictures are of my first plant and stem, like i said before feel free to comment or question on anything and abit of feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading this
peace out

P.s the plants are now 18 days old so thats 2 weeks and 4 days

Hiya. I was just wondering, where are you going to get your nutes from? I have been looking for a balanced solution for a while. They look good :)

I got this box of nutes a while ago at a local hardware shop, a few of my friends use it and it seems to do the job very well i think it was about £3.50-£4
