Need a 400-600w hps, suggestions please!

Hey guys, looking for a hps set up. Its going into a 4x4 tent. I cant find anything locally so i'll need to buy it online. I'm new to this and setting up the ballast seems tedious, so was looking for a ballast and reflector in one. I'm looking to save money so the cheapest one, thats safe in a 4x4 would be great. Any help appreciated

nothing tedious in setting up a ballast,it couldn't be easier.
a ballast reflector in one will be more expensive than a separate ballast and reflector package,because you'll probably have to get a gravita if you want all in one.
what country are you in?

You can grab a 600w Apollo setup for like $150 on amazon that comes with a 3 year warranty.

Canada so up the prices $20 every $100 but really? 180 sounds great

We talking the apl600 by Apollo? Just seen it $110. If i got that, could someone give me a list of everything else needed? Or should i get the full kit for $195

I didnt know Apollo was such a good option. Thanks guys! I'll likely be going with this. In a 4x4, would an uncooled be hazardous or could it help raise the temp? Tent will be in basement

The cheapo in me likes the look of that $100 but skeptical.

A separate ballast would allow you to keep the ballast and its heat outside if your tent. When was using a tent I just put the ballast on top of piece of 2x6 across the top of the tent.

Are you starting from scratch or building on equipment you already have? If this is going to be a stand alone set up and you're going to be vegging under the same light is check out the de 630 CMH from Growers Choice. But honestly, I'd go that route either way for a 4x4.

Bit of both. I have a closet that's gunna do seedlings/clones. Tent will be the rest.

I was suggesting the CMH for an all in one but if you've got the veg covered it would still probably be the best choice for flowering. Especially since you'd be able to use a red enhanced bulb.

Well i'd say plants would end up in the tent after the first transpant. I'm assuming this will still be ok? Also could i get some opinions on that cheap ballast or just stick with apollo?
