Need advice on LED lights...

I have a setup question that pertains to what size/brand LED grow light I should get for my two tents...
1 tent that I have is 32x32x63 and it currently has a 400hps/mh in it.
2 tent that I have is 48x48x79

I would like to make the smaller tent my veg/cloning tent, and use the large one for flowering.

What I was thinking was getting one of the following combinations, let me know what you guys think would be the best setup.

Vegging tent = 1 Pro Grow 180 from HH
or
= 1 Pro Grow 260 from HH

Flowering tent = 2 Pro Grow 400's from HH
or
= 1 Pro Grow 550 from HH
or
= 1 357 Magnum Plus, not sure the specs on it but it pulls 357 watts...

I am currently setup for a perpetual harvest with SOG using 32 two liter bottles, they are grown to about 7 inches and then placed into the flowering tent, all plants are trained to grow single cola (so alot of trimming, because I don't have the correct strain for doing it yet, but still getting decent results.) These 32 plants are setup on a 4 set series. Meaning that every two weeks I am harvesting 8 plants and replacing them with 8 fresh clones ready for flowering. Currently harvesting around 7-9 grams per plant. Will probably continue this setup after obtaining the LED's, but will probably cut the amount of plants down to 24 and doing sets of 6 instead of 8.

So those are my three options besides using the 400hps/mh for vegging and buying a new 1000hps/mh for my flowering tent... I just don't think that my breaker box will be able to handle both HPS's and all the fans and stuff to keep them running cool, plus all the running cost...

Please help, I really need to make a decision soon on what to buy.
Thanks for the help guys...

For your 32"x32" veg tent, I would say get about 200w actual power. For the 48x48, I don't think anything less than 600w actual would make me happy. Good luck with whatever you choose. Maybe try shopping around some more for some other options, or are you deadset on using pro grows?

I agree with puffenuff, you want AT LEAST 600W in a 4x4. Ideally you want a 600W light and a couple for side/angle lighting on top of that.

I'm not dead set on using the pro grow's just read a lot of good reviews about them... So I can throw the pg240 in the vegging tent. The two pg400's won't be enough to supply the flowering tent? If those aren't a good fit, what would be some good suggestions...

If I can't find some sort of LED to run in the flowering tent, I'll probably just keep the 400hps...

Some help...?

talk to ben at hydro hut then you will hate pro grows. that guy is more shady than a tree. from what i hear the fans sound like a garbage disposal. good ones not that i have used them all. but from journals and other people on here, area 51, fero, black dog, apollo, apache and the magnum. I use an apollo 8 and i like it. endurox uses fero . puff uses the apache and they all kick ass. there are other journals on here with other lights too

What if I went with either 2 of the Apollo 8's....OR 2 of the Apollo 10's...OR just 1 of the Fero AF-600...OR just 1 of the Blackdog 700's?

It's a lot of money to spend, just trying to buy what I need, instead of buying one and hating it...

I think that I have somewhat decided on the Apollo 10's, I'll need to get three of them though. One for the vegging tent and 2 for the flowering tent. They seem like the best coverage and wattage for the money, without spending a couple thousand dollars. I can always add different stuff in as I go if need be. What do you guys think about that idea?

Thats why i went with apollo from cidly. They are much less in cost and built better than most. They do custom spectrum to your liking. I can't comprehend spending more than twice as much for less wattage , even if the more expensive ones have a life time warranty. In a few years the tech will progress so much more that you will buy another one anyway. Who knows how long those companies will be around for. Fero doesn't even have a website anymore. They only make one light now.

Almost every company in the mj industry starts to go under eventually. Then discount hydro buys them out or just takes over. They own R&M supply which owns C.A.P. which owns everything. Quantum, ushio, digilux, maxlume, dyna gro, hanna, can fan, bio bizz, technaflora, ona, etc.... many more i cant think of. My point, companies don't last..

I have an 8 . I might sell it and get 2 10s or a par 420. I haven't decide yet. I will when the the money is there.

for veg you won't need as much wattage. so you could probably go with an 8 or a 6. save some money. in veg they will cover a 1x1 more than in flower. so the 10 will cover 3x6 in veg and a 2x5 in flower. each module covers a sq ft in flower

I've seen Orange, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White, and UV/IVB
If I went with the 2 Apollo 10's in the flowering tent, what spectrum of lights would I get?? Cause I really have no clue...

Same thing for the vegging tent, would I just get blue and white, or would I go with something different?

i just did a flower spectrum

per module and 90 degree lenses

7 red 660nm
4 red 630nm
1 orange 610-615nm
2 blue 460nm
1 white 2700k

sub one IR chip for a 660 on just the corner modules. they run at 0.8 watts. the rest run at 2.4 watts. So not do drop wattage too much. Then I supplement uv with reptile bulbs

I don't use 420nm. Imo that wave length slows growth during flower. maybe a little during veg
'

for veg maybe

7 blue 460
2 white 6500k
2 white 4000k
1 orange 610-615nm
2 red 660nm
2 red 630nm

do some research and tweak it to what ever you want. read up on chlorophyll a b c and what spectrums plants absorbs and at waht time in the grow they need those

Sounds like a winner to me. thanks for the input. This is all a little over a month out, providing we have a good summer harvest...

Since which led spectrums for mmj is a bit of a moving target, (thanks to new much more efficient whites, like Cree Neutral Whites, which covers the entire PAR spectrums) I recommend minimal led investment. Now if you don't mind tossing a few hundred here and there then the Apollo 10s are getting very good results.

I would get mostly NWs, plus ~ 10% 660s on a separate o/o switch to use for flower only. If you want IR, do it externally with reptile bulbs. This combination should provide you with excellent mmj

I bought a Procyon a couple years ago, and I use it for veg in
A tent with wonderful results, To save money where I can on
The electric bill too. But it was spendy, and I can only veg
5-6 plants at a Time. Good luck .
