I like White Widow from A-Dam.

Remember, your plant will double in heigth when you go from Veg to Flower, So, if you want 4 foot tall plants in flower, then start em flowering when thier 2 feet tall.

Works for me!

Some sativas will even triple in size during the "stretch" your definitly gonna have to test it out and see whats gonna work best for your situation.

Ice?

The Alaskan Ice is one of the strongest cannabis plants ever bred. It is a cross of original Green House White Widow and Pure Haze. This variation represents a very famous strain, with a new kick. The plants have a structure that is slightly stretchier than the White Widow, with a typical pine-tree shape. The internode is quite stable and averages 12-15 centimeters. The strain has all the well known characteristics of the White Widow, with a much higher THC content and a very sativa-like effect, energizing and very trippy. CBD level is also very high at over 1%, giving it a complete physical effect that follows the first burst of high. Flowering time on this strain is 9 weeks, just one week longer than the original White Widow. The Alaskan Ice is suitable for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse. The plant is quite resistant to botrytis and to pests. In indoor hydro systems the production can reach 700-800 grams per square meter. Outdoor expect production up to 800 grams per plant with fully developed specimens (up to 2,5 meters high and very branchy). The Alaskan Ice can be fed quite a bit, with an EC level up to 2.2 in hydro systems (regular flush required). The taste of the Alaskan Ice is spicy and hazy, with a very well balanced bouquet in between the White Widow and the Haze flavors.

Marijuana Strain Library - Arjan's Haze #3

"Arjan's Haze #3 has a very woody sativa flavor, a taste of musk and campfires. Underneath is a scent of mint and lemon grass. This haze delivers a potent high with the qualities that most haze fans seek: a soaring clear-headed sensation that is never too heavy on thebody. This high creeps up slowly, but once its effects are felt, they stick around for a long while. It is a terriffic strain for creative moods and for the euphoria it can contribute to recreational activities. Anecdotally, it has been promising for chronic pain."

i swear lately, i feel like i work for green house hehe

poutineeh do you find Arjan's Haze #3 to be the ultimate in mood lifting soaring highs? I'm looking for those euphoric, trippy or clearheaded, soaring highs and hear about AH3 a fair bit. What's the flowering period? What type of stretch do you get under a 2100K HPS - say if you flowered at 12" would it stretch to 18", 24" 36"?

Thanks, one strain that's on my list to try.

i have yet to try it, but someone who has posted in my journal and said it was the best high they have ever had, and it had those qualities your looking for.
i lst'd mine, so im not sure the stretch, but im pretty sure its standard twice as tall in flower vs. veg.

just tie it down and you will get a bunch of main colas. i say if you flowered at 12", it would probably grow to 24", but you can make it even shorter if you tie.

flowering period is shorter than most sativas, i believe a little over 2 months. ill be done about the first week in november

you'll find it difficult to find a compact sativa. it can be had, but is difficult to find. it'll no doubt, be a rare pheno of some hybrid. you can make this cross yourself, with patience. dr. greenthumb has a quick finishing sativa dom called niagra, that can produce some very nice results. this was one of 2 strains in my first grow. under mediocre conditions, a very large producer of a very nice end product.

C99 is a fairly short for a sativa. Mine didn't get much taller than 3 feet. I didn't think it was a big yielder but the buds are high quality with low pineapple odor.

so i think quick mist,or the old ak-47 soaring sativa high,, not to leggy and ready in 47 days well around 50-60 but that is quick for a sativa

It was Spice Brothers from Dr. Chronic. I got it 2 years ago but I think they have been out of it for some time now.

From a different angle: tawraste do you top your plants? Here's four options that I've used to control height.

If you do a double top for 4 colas you will get shorter plants than if you left it for a single cola. The extra time it takes to veg gives you more time for the plant to mature while staying short in Veg. I find double topping easiest but you could tripple top for 8 colas 12" long each in veg and get less stretch in flower, maybe 18" - 36" depending on strain. I put a Big Laughing clone and a shitty genetics AK 47 clone in aero flower at 5" and 4.75" at the same time, now the BL is 14" and the AK 28". You'll have to get to know your strains.

Another trick for keeping a plant short is to keep your plants in a small pot for the first week or two of flower, the roots can't grow properly so they can't feed/water the plant to make it grow taller. In flower you transplant to your bigger pot to let the roots grow. Robs you of yield but it keeps the plant short. If you notice root lock when you transplant rub your hand on the sides of the root ball to break some roots to grow out into the new medium.

Train the plant to grow around the pot, then to the center of the pot and straight up. Very simple to do with a young plant, a 12" bucket gives you 37" of plant around the out side, another 8"-12" of lower stem bending towards the edge, another 6"-8" going back to the middle, and up as much as you want. I've done with 12 x 6'-8' sativas and got my best yield ever - the buds grow straight up and get the most light. Extra work. One plant, one pot and no screen, SOG basically.

Finally, and I'll leave you alone - Flower with a 3000 K to 4000 K HID. I use a 3000 K MH Sun Pluse, less stretch than a 2100 K HPS and the buds are tighter. There are some great MH bulbs out there for flowering, like the Sun Master Warm Deluxe. Make sure you get a full spectrum light if you're going to use MH for flower. I've noticed a decrease in yield - volume - because of tighter buds, but very very little decrease in weight. I grew with HPS for 5 years, MH for 1 and I'm sold on MH for flower for personal bud (not commercial unless premium priced).
