Need advise building a grow room in cold outside temps

Having a vegetative area that runs 24/7 will be the only way to keep the heat up but costs down. In my cold months I have my vegatative exhausting its heat into the HPS tent, which warms that tent when the flowerring lights are off, but also has an exhaust in the flower room that removes the air aswell with HPS on. 2 fans no big deal

I would think that an oil-filled heater generates heat more efficiently than an HPS light. I just went through another -15F (yes minus) below night. In a 24/7 veg room your intake would be constantly bringing in some pretty cold air, or certainly does in my case. In my case then, during my winter grow, exhausting is secondary. I have a variac speed controller and it is turned down below to half and It only runs once every three hours during lights on of flower and I seldom run it at all during veg. I am guided almost more by humidity than heat during these times. I know where are many CO2 gurus who will tell you that I might be missing out on some ...but I have found my daily breath for a couple minutes has been enough for them. Optimal, no. But my yield is pretty much the same year round. Just seems like I have more control over things than I would if I was depending on intake temps and veg room exhausting to heat my flower room, but different strokes.

My intakes do blow some frigid air something to be mindful of. But on I have on all the time and one is hooked up to the same thermostat as my exaust. That way if it does get to hot then both intakes will take care of that.
I have always been told airflow is key, not just in the room with fans. They need fresh air also circulating, the only time I shut them down is if I want to give them a good shot of co2. No use to add co2 if the exaust is just gonna suck it out right.
But then im still a noob, this will be my second grow and white cookies is the strain. I've heard mixed results about crop king seeds, but i paid $120 total for 10. A bit pricy, but if they are what they say it will be worth it

Big grow tent inside the room with a small space heater w/thermostat inside the tent and and IMO it will stay at whatever temp it's set for. You could even keep another space heater outside the tent. Just throwing another option out there

insulation for sure,,, do not use the cool tubes in winter,,
you have to trail run a few days without plants, using meters and sensors to get a feeel for how temps run with lights on and off
I use a variac thermostate and a baseboard heater,, it only kicks on if temps get to low,, so during lights on the heater may stay off,, but if some heat is needed it will kick on,,, during lights off the heater is always on to some degree,,,
IF your humidity is in range,, you can recycle the air, my buddy made a cheapo box out of cardboard and feeds his exhaust into the box, and his intake is on the other side of thebox, then he just spreads the two hoses together or apart as needed to adjust the temp inside the grow space,, simple but really effective
Yeah what he said. After everything is all cinched up take a couple days and record some stats, then do what's necessary to get the climate controlled.
