need experienced grower help

I've had so many problems i dont know where to start...

It's my first time growing from seeds, and i'm totally clueless.

I just put them into peat pucks and have been watering them once a day. it seems like they keep pushing their way out of the soil!

one side is white and pointy and the other is green and kind of looks like little tiny leaves are sprouting (looks kind of like a duck's beak).

When my sprouts push their way out of the soil, which end do i put back in?? white or green?

Also there have been some tiny green bugs on my pucks... should i be worried?

sorry if this should be in newbie central, I just figured i'd have a better chance of reaching an experienced grower in this section.

thanks everybody!

much love

When they grow the tap root comes out 1st... in soil or pucks the sprout will usually look like a small loop... the green (duck beak as you put it) will straighten and stand straight up...
so the white down... green up naturally....
If you have bugs I'd 1st wash hands.. the break open puck and take sprout and put in soil... tap root down 3/8" deep, cover lightly ... or if not sure just lay on its side..it knows which way up... Luck.
