Need Extreme help " Aero cloner " Root Nubs but roots dying off

Hello everyone,

I'm having a very very hard time cloning in my aero cloner.
I've tried so many different ways of treating the water.

I've tried tap water down here in San Diego 250ppm PH 8.1 PH downed to 5.5 - Clonex Gel and solution.

Nothing besides root nubs showing for over a week stems turned a red/brown color

I've bleached the whole system between each runs

I've tried plain tap water with no luck besides root nubs showing.

RO water Phed down with clonex and clonex solution.

I've tried heating the water. I've tried cooling the water.

I need help badly in what you guys do to get roots to shoot out.

My aero cloner has a Air Stone in it as well. Pictures will be posted

None of these have helped me to get roots to shoot out.
I can only seem to get root nubs and they either seem to die off or just not pop.
I have PH solution
Clonex gel and Water Solution
Rapid Start
Tappin Roots
Sea green

Please let me know your full setup list in how you get clones to root.
My setup is pump running 24.7 lights on 18/6

Any information or tips will help me greatly

Keep the water temp low and just leave them alone. They're on the verge of rooting. Brown mushy stems is a water temp problem.

I got one coming today. I was reading that 1 min on and 5 mins off is that a good ratio? Also My ph seems to rise almost everyday when i check it 1.0

I run mine continuously (oxy cloner) in the basement and never had a heat issue. Maybe move the cloner to a cooler place or put a frozen water bottle in it once a day.

A week isn't enough time. By 8 days I see root stubble and at 12 I have a christmas tree of white roots. As mentioned, just keep it cool and leave it alone.

Fwiw, I only add a little clonex solution and a dose of mammoth p. I have pics up somewhere.....

I found running 24/7 for the first day or so, then going down to the 1/5min timing, seemed to work best for me. I think it keeps them well hydrated right after the cut, then cutting back on the watering tease out the roots. Don't PH water until you see root bumps. They can uptake just water at any PH. You don't want them trying to uptake nutes, which is why we PH, to make nutes available. You want to starve them, forcing them to throw roots in search of food.

I ran RO with Hydroguard. My tap water caused red slime outbreaks, it's common in most municipal water.

When you say red slime do you means on the stem of the plants being red? Or slime like subsistence inside the cloner box?

I will pick up some RO water which I've tested comes out to 0 ppm. Is hydroguard the same as clear rez?

Seems like im chasing the PH daily right now i have the box in my garage coolest place i can have it right now.

Im putting in 2 ice bottles 4 times a day. I just put it on a timer 1/5 I do have one clone out of 12 that popped a nice one inch root.

Do you use clonex or anything in that nature?

I saw it mainly on the sides of the box and the air stones, but if it's there, it's probably on the stems. Once they got decent roots, I never had an issue with it, I think because by that point there was enough beneficial bacteria colonizing the system.

Hydroguard is a beneficial bacteria. I believe clear res is a sterilizing agent, but I'm not sure.

I never used cloning products. Plain, not PHed water, changed out daily/ every other day until I see root bumps, then I ran weak flower nutes for a week before going to veg nuts. Anytime i put anything but water in at the beginning I had issues.

Stop using an aero cloner lol. I have roots in 7 days using root riot cubes and perilite in a covered tote. Mist once and water in perlite, use rusty scissors to cut clones and used res water to mist. As for the red slime I think you may have iron bacteria which in it self is not harmful to drink. Lift the back of your toilet tank lid and if its black and slimed that's what it is ;).
