hey

i started my first hydro ..........used a smaller auto seed (blue mammoth) .....the one i grow in soil got me 2 oz

but this one is huge i mean bigger then the autos i have in 5 gallon soil that is 10 days into flower big

i need to know from u guys what amount u put in your tents...4x4 (before i could do 4 ) but this hydro looks like only 2
and if i do a higher yeild plant ones i have gotten 6 8 oz out of soil am i going to be in for shit

other part is compared to the notes on the soil grow this hydro grow is going longer in veggie stage...................is this normal/ do i need to do anything to kick it to flowering (altering the light is not something i want to do 20/4)

last ? i see ppl talking about replacing the water more then once a week is this something u need to do with autos .................about middle of the week i add in a few mls of grow bloom and micro to help fill what was taken (normal 1 gallons worth back into a 4 gallon dwc)

Hey Justugh, I wish I could help but I'm on my first DWC myself...Wish you lots of luck. Like to keep up with your progress and maybe some pictures later if you could.... Peace brother

u asked here it is
dwc 4 gallon
micro pore stone
7.8 liter a min air pump
feed is FloraSeries Performance Pack.. recirculating feed change it once a week (plan on the side of box)
light is 600w mh and 600w hps in a 4x4 area on a 20/4 timing

seed is barney's farm blue mammoth
day 37.4 old
she has 11 nodes with alot of side branches and shoots

when she started she tipped over from the weight of the top i use a old pill bottle with the bottom cut off to kep her strait up now the truck is almost as big as the bottle itself

i been adding between half a gallon to a gallon of fresh water every 24 hours to the system to equal it out ............middle of the week i add one gallon of the feed plan to replace what was taken

as u can see it is taken up almost 1/3 of my tent

hence i like to get imput from u growers ..............i am thinking about doing a larger basket with a bigger yeild strain ........this one i counted as a lower yeild hence why it was my first test if i lost it no biggie

this is bigger then anything i have done even on a 7 gallon soil system .............my last exp was a high yeild in 3 gallons and i got almost half a pound (learning to dail in the feed)

I think there is something about hydro plants taking a bit longer to start flowering.
I've got 5 autos growing now. 3 hydro, 2 in soil. The two in soil were germinated a week after the hydro plants but started flowering first. The soil plants started flowering at about 30 days, the hydro about 37.

My hydro plants are doing well and I didn't have to change the light schedule to kick off flowering, just had to wait a bit longer. I'm going 20/4 myself.

I don't know about the tent and stuff, I've got a spare bathroom and a closet to use.

Yeah man, the hydro growth is amazing compared to soil. I started hydro after growing one soil plant and the difference just crazy. I wanted some variety for this grow and didn't want to deal with a bunch of monsters so I put a few in smaller soil pots.

I've done hydro for several grows but I have never used autos. I found when the flowering starts depends on 1. the strain and 2. the age of the plant when switched to 12/12. Younger plants can take longer. For what I understand some strains of autos are not dependable.

well this is the first plant i have ever encountered the issue(post is very old 2 years) ......i figured it out it partly due to the auto flowering genetics

there root system grows extremely fast but not deep ......so it loves hydro ....the other part is i had the feed at high lvl so the genetics told it to keep going we got good the light is 20/4 we are good grow grow grow......i have been able to do this in soil grows with altering the mixes and aggressive feedings (nothing to this scale do to the water fact hydro offers a unlimited supply) ....ad the end of this plant i was given near gallon and half a day to replace what was taken(had to alter the plants timing to 12/12 and change the feed completely to a heavy flowering mix but in a few days flipped and went back to 20/4 )

i am currently on 4th experiment now the system is taken up 1200mls a day now but i am keeping the feed ppm in the 1600s not 3000/4000s ......i am happy it is not a monster like others but the buds are not as big as before but only a few days it it could run 4 months ......no red vein in sight monday last i sawl the roots and they had tripled in size since the last time i sawl it (little worried about trying to take it out might have to change water hard way ) the ph is doing the same thing (always needing to go up from water depletion and food use/conversions )
