ill make it fast, it's an auto-flower almost 8 weeks old. I recently moved and cannot fine my magnifine lens nor afford one until the first of the month. First indoor grow and its small due to early stresses and lack of nutes. So I'd really at least like to pull her closest to highest thc potency. Any opinions appreciated! easy, use your eye, look real close to the breeder suggested maturing time of your strain, compare that with the time you've grown it, and the effects of the small bud you can cut off the bottom and dry for a few days. you decide.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I'll have time to got yo town and find a new lens. Can anyone simplify or clarify harvesting by eye, with experience please. What I've gathered over various sources is that 60-70% is ideal for highest thc potency. But is that for the entire plant or directed more towards the main cola? And again, thanks!!

Harvesting "by eye" is really a personal experience/choice type of thing. Some people prefer to pull a bit early, some people a bit later.

IIRC, the glands begin to amber when THC begins to degrade, so I personally like to pull when they're mostly clear, some cloudy, and a few beginning to amber. The sugar leaves will show amber before the actual bud does, so I go by the bud. Also the hairs will turn brown or red and recede into the calyx. The calyx will swell and the whole bud packs on density right at the end.

That's the gist of it. I like when the buds get all floppy near the end. LOL

Give it 2 more weeks bare min IMO. Depends on how long it's been flowering. If you're going to go by eye then @a senile fungus already gave you some spot on advice. Wait for your pistils to change color and then recede. Those calyxes will plump up bigtime. When it happens you'll be like holy crap these buds got fat. I don't even look at trics up until that happens. Because chances are well.......they're not at their peak harvest time. Sometimes it'll take a week or 2 longer even.
