  • im about to do a small little grow, nothing big. 1-2 plants
im using cfls. 4 100 actual watt red and blue spec.
i wanted to use more bulbs bet everytime i try to attach up to 6 bulbs, and my air purifier my socket pops and i have to go reset the breaker, guessing this is to much power to one outlet. would splitting the power from different sockets in that room will that get rid of this problem? the only reason i say no is because its all most likely running on 1 power grid. but im no electrition.
    so my main Q's are.
    1- is that enough light
2- if not, how do i solve my power problem stated above.
i want to have running my heater (avg. room temp withought heater is about 60F.)
along with however many lights im might need, my fan (mini desk fan), and my air purifier.
    many thanks.

Ps: just starting from seed. unknown bag strain, some funky. haha transplanted today after germing them for 2 days in a plate with damp paper towels and water. no sprout out of each other them when i put them into dirt today, but i have fingers crossed.

Best of luck to ya bro. I've gotta say I expected to come to this thread and see someone with a dying plant or something but these are easy questions.

1. Yes that's enough light if they are 100 actual watts not equivalent. 1 plant in veg needs appx 100 watts per plant and 2-3 times that in flower so you should be golden, oh they will love you for the mixed spectrum to :D

2. I already answered if it was enough but yes it keeps popping the breaker because it's overloading your breaker. You can use another outlet in the room but 9 times out of 10 those outlets are wired inline with the others. You also gotta remember that your heater will pull a lot and will prob trip the breaker to so you just gotta try it and see.

But be careful electricity is nothing to play with and you only want about a 70-75% load on each breaker. So say you have a 20 amp breaker you wouldn't want over 17.5 constant amps on it to leave room for spikes and such. Just see what's all on that breaker and move other things in your house on a different outlet.

Mr. Green: before you burn down your house, you might want to consider using a 2' long rack of T-5's four tubes wide. That should cover one to two small plants and each tube only draws 35 watts, so the combined draw would be 140 watts, probably not enough to cause a problem. I hope that helps because Giggles is right, electricity is nothing to screw around with if you don't know what you're doing. I hope that helps. HSA

First, that's overkill if you're vegging.
100w is more than enough to veg 1 or 2 plants in a small area if you keep them close, but I prefer more smaller bulbs than 1 big one myself.
Second, are you using a 100 foot extension cord? Long cord=more resistance=easier to pop your CB.
Third, like Giggles said, most rooms are all on one circuit, I only know of kitchens breaking up outlets onto diff. CB's.(appliances and lighting, disposal, etc.)
