Need lighting advice ASAP!!

So i've always wanted to grow and have read up on my shit but i don't really have the space, money or privacy for it.
But i picked 2 seeds out of some pretty dank grapefruit (tastes more like limes tho) and just for shits and giggles i germinated and planted them.

So now i have these seedlings and theres no way im letting the genes go to waste... plus they're way too cute to kill.
I wanna rig up a little 1 or 2 plant closet rig and i wanna use HPS lights.

Question is can i just buy.. 2 150W HPS bulbs (actual bulbs not tubes) put them in regular desk lamps and rig it to adjust height over the plants?

2nd question: should i just plaster the closet with foil or is there... right and wrong placement of reflectors?

Hello, you cannot take hps bulbs and place them into a regular light socket. What would be best for you is to grab 8 26 watt cfls from lowes, home depot or walmart. walmart is prolly cheaper. Jus t make sure the lights are 6500k daylight 26 watters. You can use tin foil as a reflectoer for cfls, but is not reccemmended for hid.

For flowering grab about 10 23 watt 2700k soft white cfls for flowering.

...interesting. What would happen if i flowered but kept the 6500 spectrum?

It'll work but not as well.
I'd skip the foil alltogether and just paint the closet flat white, better reflection %.
Pennywise is right about HID, no regular sockets, you need a ballast.
