Need Luxim Lifi STA 40 series driver help!

So I just bought one of those neat looking plasma emitters from Luxim. It arrived in the mail and shortly after opening it I discovered it required a little "assembly". So I went out and bought a cheap ass comp case from micro center and voila. Only one problem it overheats after ~ 1 1/2 hours. I was looking online to try and find schematics since I'm decent with electrical b.s. (use to work as fixture/lamp repair). However I can't seem to find anything for the driver assembly. Which has an extra group of four brown, purple, black and white wires; then another extra bundle of two wires that are blue and orange. Any advise as to what these are and if there's anything I can do about the overheating problem, without adding another power cord into the equation. I'll post pics of it in a little bit.

So the guy at Micro Center told me that I could just plug a fan rated at 12v into a 28v power supply. Wouldn't this ruin the fan? Is there a way I can reduce the voltage down on just one of the outputs for the power supply (such as running it through a resistor)? Sorry been a while since I've done anything hardware related.

I have a computer fan that runs at 9v, 12v, 15v, and 32v. The higher the voltage the faster it goes so I would assume that at the higher voltages it would not run as long.
