i got this autoflower seed growing and i wanted to LST it so where do i exactly tie/hook(?) my twisty ties around the stem?
is it between the nodes or just above the growth tips?
:-? :ss

i like to get close to a big branching node, not so much worry about snapping it. i use garden ties, like a big roll of twisties you can cut to length. i just make sure i leave the actual loop around the branch a little loose, so the stem has room to grow.

hook around the stalk, below the stipules so you don't impede the growth that comes out of in between the petiole and stalk. Don't use anything hard like string or a bread bag twist tie unless you keep it loose

I like to use the rolls of garden wire like mentioned above ......remember you can move branches side to side as well as down to get things nice and flat and even .......if the branch is large and hard to bend .....do it a little at a time to keep it from snapping .....even if you do crack one .....a Popsicle stick and some tape is all you need .....GL

Also if your in pots you can drill holes around the rim of the pot and use them to tie your wire and lst the plant ........I use a hose running from my tanks to water in my greenhouses.....so having wires along the top of my pots , is no big deal and don't get in the way of my watering ......keep that in mind if you use a watering can or something other than a hose .....the wires around the rim can make it difficult to water if you decide to do that

I topped mine 1st left 2 weeks then started lst. I took a garden tie with soft cover around Base of the stem and secured it to the pot side this secures you don't up root. Then I took another tired to the main stem further up and bent the the stem the other way from Base tie . Then I left it until branches started to grow upwards. As they did I tied them back to were I needed to allow growth and even tops . I ended up with about 15 to 20 top bud sites.

What did you come up with? The best method I have found is bending the top of pipe cleaner into a hook. Place it wherever it doesn't get in the way and then tie fishing weights to the bottom. This keeps me from needing tie the end off anywhere. They're reusable, and take about 3 seconds to move. You may have to add weights as your plant grows, but it's really simple method.
