Need To Buy a Home - BUT WHERE??

OK....

I know these questions and posts pop up, I've even tried to hijack a few at one point or another. Decided it's time to make my own.

We've been living and renting in Co for about 3 years. First in Brighton, and now in Aurora. Our lease is up in May and I'm sick of spending $25k a year on damn rent, lol. Wanna get that down to like $1k a month mortgage.

We've done tons of window shopping online and have been here 3 years but still have no idea really where we want to get serous about looking for places.

We know like north and east Denver areas well enough I suppose but that's about it. Brighton, Thornton, Westminster, Aurora(Town Center area), Downtown, Broadway, Colfax, etc. And have had occasion to head over to Boulder and Bloomfield(Acme Hydro ftw!) but that is about it.

We are interested in looking in Co Springs and Ft Collins as well but have NO clue about the areas, never even been to either city, lol. And we are not opposed to going more rural although healthcare proximity and cable internet access are concerns.

My mom recently sold her home and came to live with us. She is getting older and has some health issues and was living by her self the last few years so I finally talked her into coming out here. She currently goes to Natl Jewish in Denver for various things, primarily pulmonary.

What we would like in a home:

• Within 30 min of quality healthcare for mom. And even closer to emergency room if possible. Right now we live less than 2 miles from the Aurora Med Center and Natl Jewish is 15 min down the road.
  
• $250k max budget I think. Hopefully closer to $200k. This is basically our first home with mom helping out a little.
  
• A decent, low crime area in a quiet neighborhood.
  
• I work from home, online. So it is important that we live where cable internet is available.
  
• This is where you guys come in hopefully: As grow friendly as possible. Ultimately I'd like to be able to have a small greenhouse or outdoor plants without a TON of problems but I'll be indoors primarily.

What you want is no different that future buyers of your place, be neutral in desire and taste, avoid going too cheap or expensive, but like most Russians by 2, and rent the other out or use as a grow farm? ...then its just a matter of screwing the paperwork and loans to your advantage ...good luck

Colo Springs and Pueblo is really cheap, you can get those newly built homes for $200k - $300k and they're fucking huge. We plan on buying when our lease here is up and we are looking at this area: http://www.zillow.com/bailey-co/

Ideally I'd like to be further in the mountains but she wants to be closer to civilization, so this is the compromise. I'd like to go back to Black Hawk / Gilpin but the real estate prices are pretty serious over there.

Obviously if you're in the mountains you can have them outside. Otherwise it's gonna be hit or miss depending on neighbors. When I was in Black Hawk I had a ton of plants outside and inside, you smell it out in the road. Nobody gives a shit. If you really want to go someplace where they don't give a shit, go to Nederland, nothing but hippies.

I have a for closure near me at 150k. Great deal in the springs. Houses build around 2006.

Pueblo isn't where you want to live is you're in aurora now! Unless you like super dry heat and living off AC in the summer.
If you like the city stay near Denver if you like your own area then there are some awesome buys down here in woodland park and black Forrest.

Yeah, Woodland Park has reasonable prices

Ft Collins is getting expensive, but that's because it's desirable. If you're going to put down roots, this is a nice town.

There are realtors that specialize in 420 friendly housing here.

I'm adding a heat pump to my home, to add value. If a grower wants to buy it, the cooling is already built in!

The spring's is where it's at for home value and it's similar to Denver and not a desert like pueblo.

Hey folks.... We are in full on house mode now. Looking in the springs. Hope to chill with some of you guys soon!

El paso has a very strict 12 plant count per house limit. They don't give a fuck if you have a doctors note, or 12 people stuffed up in the house, like a bunch of sardines.

I dont know if this influences your decision or not, just wanted to throw that out there if you're the sort that follows those "law" things. HMU if you end up here.

Just so I know, does that apply to caregivers as well? Which is what? 36? Gotta love county law superseding state.

Also anyone have any info on odor? If I can only grow 12 plants I want it to be 12 outdoor monsters so I can show how retarded basing things on plant count is, lol.

They did it to eliminate caregivers. 12/house. Regardless of any increased plant count or amount of people/caregiver status. Pretty fucked up man.
Have to constantly risk being over plant count just to keep clones anymore such bullshit. "Legal" my ass.

I can't say legally for med/rec growers. But I do know that as far as dispensaries go, anything in a cube or pot smaller than 2" is not considered towards plant count.

Last time I spoke to an attorney about plant counts (was in 2014 - could have changed by now) he said that if it doesn't have roots it is not considered towards plant count. Ie: a cutting that has not rooted out yet.. Once it has roots, it officially counts towards plant count.
