Neem Pest Prevention

Hi guys,

About 3 weeks into veg and curious about pest prevention as I'm growing indoors and noticed some sort of track on some of the leaves, possibly some sort of slug.

Now I've heard about starting to give them neem early on throughout the grow, but can't find what I originally saw a ways back.

Anyhow, what kind of neem prevention can I start (schedule, dosage, etc) with?

I also have Mighty Wash & Monterrey Garden spray with Spinosad.

Also, with anything I spray on them, I need to wash off, correct?

Here's some pics:

Much love!

Every 7 days spray the soil for prevention. That schedule should stop any larvae that's hatched.

You only have to wash it off, if it causes a problem. Some concoctions have sulfur or are too thick and will burn the leaves. That situation you wash off.

Every time you water the soil, second it up with neem. Spray it after you water. The prime time for fungus gnats. Eggs hatch 6-7 days later. Spray again...

Does that track on the leaves look like fungus gnats? I do see the occassional white fly in there. So maybe I'll go once a week with a light neem spray on just the soil?

Keep from spraying any bud. Neem won't hurt you. It's used in delicate stuff like women's make-up. The issue as I'd see it is leaving a aftertaste to the flowers. Luckily it's the leaves that bugs attack the most. The bud, they tend to leave alone. Unless getting stuck to it. Seems the stinkiest parts of the plant are the most bug resistant.

So hit the affected leaves (no need to wash off) & the soil (leave)?

I would make sure you have some resident bugs and identify them before doing anything. I've been smoking cigs for almost 50 years and I don't take chemo to prevent a possible cancer. :)

One little track does not an infestation make. Sometimes a bug wanders in, has a taste and decides it don't like pot and goes on it's own. Or if just a bug or two squish them and keep an eye out for more. I always keep a sticky trap or two out to see if anything is buzzing around my girls. One in a pot and one on the wall somewhere.

And pics under real light look a lot better.

:peace:

If you got splotchy white tracts on the leaves it could be thrips(whiteflies) they are tiny & hard to see until they get outta control. Neem oil will work but spinosad Monterey garden spray works much faster. If you simply add neem seed meal to your soil as an amendment and recycle it that will take care of most pests naturally. A sprinkle of diatomaceous earth on top never hurst either....

Neem is being found to be FAR more toxic then once thought! I never liked it - for anything.
NEVER use on Cats or Dogs, like many of the Neem propaganda sites say to. Flat out toxic to cats and has been reported to actually have killed a dog - ask your vet about it! Real problems with children, including a death there too...... Kinda reminds me of the first bottled water - Evian - Whats Evian backwards? Naive - and you still buy bottled water?

You can tell it is - V eats it, and look at him ;-) ;-)

Sorry V. Couldn't resist!

Rolling on the Floor like a fucking helicopter ...lol

My cats got mites say my 30x glass

I apply raw cold pressed neem oil to a cotton bud and clean out the cats ears

cats fine 2 days later, that was 3 years ago .. saved $80.00 visit to the cat doc.

On holiday I get pubic lice, smear Neem over my genitals etc, smells nice too

wash it off, really amazed it worked, seriously impressed, still smell nice

theirs no secret chem here it simply blocks up the mouth of critters who want to 'bite' you

sounds familiar ...?

You got bugs on your NUTS? After Holiday? You need to hang with a better class of women!

You smell them after cleaning them?

You got issues V!

Our vet says NO Neem on pets! That's good enough for me...
