There are as many tricks to growing as there are growers, for Alaska, I think avoid Sativa crosses at all costs, most sats enjoy the great heat of the tropics, like Thai's buds or the many Hawaiian strains, stick to the Indica's, just as strong easier to grow in cooler climates, same for autos too,
In time you may become bored even disappointed with autos, as many think they (auto strains)haven't made their grade as yet, I think there is still much room for improvement with many auto strains, but don't let that put you off.
With 24 hour light coming up ...you have to take advantage of that light and grow some(photo) indica's, once you have vegged them long enough, move them to bud ...simply by putting them in a closet ..at arrival from work each day, and put them out ...as you leave for work in the morn.
The biggest issue would have to be heating keeping the babes warm enough, look to getting a gardeners heating mat, one with grunt

best place for tips is here ...lol

Ive got an 9x5 oasis tent for my imdoor and have been running indoor indica dom hybrids for about ten years. Just never ran an auto... but ive got a huge greenie with lots of room and just wanted to do an outdoor plant.

Almost impossible for me to move the plants back and forth because of med conditions

Lookin good over there frozen! What else besides your T.O.M. are you running?
Grouch... The grouch who grows it/bred it doesn't have a name for it, and he's been growing it locally for about 20 years... I'm only running one grouch though, I only got a couple seeds and plan on continuing the ONE female I got, I already got some clones in veg. I am also breeding the two strains (T.O.M. X Grouch = O.M.G "old man grouch")!

Tundromatic, is the name I gave to the plant I created in Alaska for Alaskan patients. During breeding, I ran cooler rooms than normal and then selected outcross based on what did well in those conditions. I grew out a few crops in Alaska before taking the project to MI, where I have had the opportunity to experience it a multitude of times, in a multitude of ways. I have also had the opportunity to pass them out freely in my classes, events, expos, private gatherings etc. My experience, and that if others is that there is something "special" here. What we have come to realize is where we feel this plant is best suited, and that is in the garden of oil makers! From one phenotype to the next, there is a variety that when mixed in a cocktail fashion rather than via breeding, an amazing effect occurs. From someone with a unique set of circumstances and disability, I am simply amazed at how effective this plant is for treatment of complicated issues. As for growing outdoor, each region of Alaska varies but its been growing in the Bristol bay region, Anchorage area, Matt Su Vally, Eagle River, Seward, and even on campus at UAF in Fairbanks. Autos work well in Alaska, however those bred in AK stand the best chance. (I hear there is an island of autos returning each year in the middle of a lake!) ;)

I love your knowledge and passion for what you do! Your reputation for breeding precedes you. I am to be down that road myself in a few more generations (breeding a hearty ALASKAN strain) and I can only hope to be able to do as well as you have!

Here's to hoping my closet is something for future generations to be proud of!

(this^ is moving into the 5th week of flower)

I am preparing a speech. I would like to address you folks in a bit more formal manner if I may. I would like to explain my experience and understanding of cannabis as a medicine and get a fire going under your butts. This is no joke, I am watching people whom were "suppose to die", not... Call it what you want. People whom have been through all conventional treatment options and knife, sent home to pass or left without hope in hospice, walk away "free" of the deathly problems.
As folks like yourself take on the new industry, please remember or realize your true ability to be the difference for someone else. If we cannot follow our leaders, we must lead. Be well, and do good work!
Best of wishes.

I need no explanation as to your experience, as I my self have seen a few miracles happen with RSO and other concentrates. I have watched helpless as friends were given one hopeless prognosis after another, and cocktails of horrible pharmacologic drugs to be taken round the clock. Watched as my nephew went through 18 epileptic seizures a day... I'm ready Woodsman, I'm ready to stand up and scream! I want my voice heard, I want people to open their eyes! We can't stand by while thousands of people suffer and die meaninglessly. While children scream in agony because of how much the chemo hurts, or cry because they're not "normal" and will never have any friends.... I'm READY! I am here for whatever help is needed.
