New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

New things at moms house (whats new?) Got my 4x2x6 tent, I LOVE IT!! Its the absolute perfect size for right now. Also, I started making a stealth seedling cabinet/nursery from an old broken bureau I had. I'm going to line it with mylar and get my little LED in there with a fan. I am no Tim the ToolmanTaylor, but I do pretty good :-) Will post pics of progress soon. I was going to use my old tent, but its to big for just the 3-4 weeks until they go in big girls tent, and it would be pushing my stealth mode having (2) tents in the apartment. I will try to sell on craigslist or just store it away for now. Also, for my next grow I'm thinking about trying (3) Seedsman Auto Fem WW in different mediums and see what happens:

#1- just FFOF
#2- 1/2 compost/cow manure & 1/2 coir
#3- 1/3 FFOF, 1/3 compost/cow manure & 1/3 coir

I love to experiment.
The problem with experiments, in my experience, is that often times there's a sudden need to improvise. That's not necessarily a bad thing though. :bigjoint:

I have a gallon coco grow that needs fed 3x daily and I can't keep up. Enter 4 gallon bucket with 1 gallon of nutes and 2 airstones. Gallon of coco is suspended to sit in 1" of water. That bottom inch is all perlite in the 1 gal. My plant stays happy now by just topping up the bucket once a day. At the same time the water level gets below the 1 gal pot, the top 1/2" of coco goes dry. Kinda neat. Been doing this for a week. Flushed and checked PH today and it's spot on. Figured since I'm bottom feeding coco, a good weekly flush is probably a good idea.

Vaping Cannabis did not do my lungs any good when I did it. I have asthma and it always felt like a bear squatting on my chest.

Chopped em all down, since i only have 1 tent I'll use it to dry them aswell, took the light down anyways for some "modifications" more LEDs, far reds, 4 more 3k 90cri, some UVA leds, some IR LEDs, and Bluefish controller......next addition is a veg tent, and a drying tent maybe in the near future but not really needed, some of these things took 12 weeks to finish, a lot longer than i ever thought, so i ordered up some new seeds for the next round, went with some Ocean Grown Seeds this time, Dark Plasma and Alien Rift, cant wait to pop these!

Well, the mass legislature is poised to drop bombshells on the rec cannabis laws. They will increase the total tax to 28%, eliminate voter referendums for allowing sales in a particular town (board of selectman/city council votes only), and REDUCES the amount a homegrower can keep to 10 oz.

Lots of other changes. But basically between the lack of towns that will allow rec sales, a high tax rate and seed to sale regulations restricting sources, the black market will be VERY happy. Retail prices on weed will be sky high and rec sites will be hard to find (outside of dispensaries that also sell rec).

Consider that med dispensary pricing has an oz equiv at about $400, that will put rec prices at over $500 an oz. And you will probably have to travel to Boston or Northampton even to find it.

I wouldn't open a shop that had a 28% tax on top of lp pricing for raw product. I doubt it would be profitable when some local grower could undersell me by half with better product.

Time for another ballot initiative.

At this point I don't really care what they do. I'll keep my little closet rotation of auto's going no matter what they do with the laws. Too invested to stop now. Even have another 28 Mephisto beans arriving tomorrow.

If they said dispensaries could sell to the public back in Jan, I would've gladly paid $100 for an quarter of top shelf bud. That would save me both time and money. They dropped the ball.

They already burned their income bridge by putting off sales for 18 months imo. They have to assume a very large number of people are growing by now. I'm willing to bet they push to eliminate home grows before legal sales become a thing. I'll still continue.

Rage Against The Machine.

That House bill was shelved ... neither the governor nor DeLeo wanted it brought to a vote and the Senate is writing a replacement that is supposed to leave most of the original bill in tact. the biggest change is to take sole authority from the treasurer's office and add a couple of appointees.

How recent is that? My info came from a wbur article from last friday, complete with links. You seem plugged in so I'm not arguing it, just trying to get a sense of where things really are.

Ok, I found the proposed bill that will be voted on: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xktj3oyo6wtf1dn/Massachusetts-House-Proposed-Omnibus-Marijuana-Bill.pdf?dl=0

A few highlights:

  • We get a spanking new Cannabis Enforcement Division (with Police powers)
  • The CCB has the power to change homegrow regulations without further legislative action
  • No consumption in a Public place or where cigs are banned
  • No general vote on the decision to ban sales in a town; for towns with boards of selectman, the selectman vote and then a town meeting vote (not general election vote) - town meetings are stacked against cannabis use. They will ALWAYS vote to ban. If you have a mayor or town council, they vote. You don't.
  • no free or donated marijuana products as part of promotional events (or for any reason?).
  • It appears hemp farming may be legal under license restrictions
  • using mj cannot be used to deny medical treatments including xplants
  • the original bill is repealed. but it's hard to tell what else they tinkered with without following each friggin chapter.
  • no changes to homegrow rules at the moment
The document is not searchable. It is a img dump into a pdf. It was written by lawyers so it is hard to follow. It is 48 pages long.

But it looks like we are being sold up the river quietly. The Cannabis Control Board can change what, how, and how much we can grow at any time, without any further vote by the legislature.

I couldn't find anything that said this has been amended or changes are still underway, but you can be sure they will take the power for themselves. It's what they do.

EDIT: This bill COMPLETELY repeals the citizens petition ballot initiative, which made it into law as Chapter 334. All provisions are revoked and replaced!

More product in the butter, rinse it several times to reduce unpleasant flavors and contaminants.

Most recipes I plan to try call for between 1/4-1/2oz. I figure that's for noobs and moderate users. I plan to use an oz. I'll get less product but it will be that much more potent. I can handle too strong, too weak would just make me mad for wasting bud.

About a week or 2 until I have more than I should and I'll get to play. A lot. :bigjoint:

CALL your state congress and tell them how you feel! This is just a slightly less bad / more complex version of their previous bullshit. They will keep pushing to change it to what those corrupt fuckers want. I'm poking all my local folks to do it, too. I'm debating being more vocal in my neighborhood and setting up a board in town to keep people aware and engaged.

Been away from home. Plants are pretty bad off. Vegfed way to long due to other responsibilities. Totally burning plants up near the lights. Will fix it soon enough. Topdressed soil as the nutes are mad low. 95 degree temps.

OK...so when making canna butter~ use the trim and tiny buds and pieces that I cut off.(Dont use the bigger leaves or stems.) Grind up the good trim and little buds in a coffee grinder (about an oz?), put it in a saucepan, add 16oz water for every 4oz of butter, and boil on medium heat until the water is about 50% evaporated. (3 hours or so?) STIR STIR STIR. Strain the whole thing twice into a container and put in the fridge.

Yes??
