OK...so when making canna butter~ use the trim and tiny buds and pieces that I cut off.(Dont use the bigger leaves or stems.) Grind up the good trim and little buds in a coffee grinder (about an oz?), put it in a saucepan, add 16oz water for every 4oz of butter, and boil on medium heat until the water is about 50% evaporated. (3 hours or so?) STIR STIR STIR. Strain the whole thing twice into a container and put in the fridge.

Yes??
I would decarboxylate in a covered pan in the oven for a half an hour at 240°

It does it somewhat while you're cooking it (I cooked mine for eight hours) but if you decarboxylate at first you'll be sure that nearly 100% will be accessible.

How do you make cannabis infused oil?.....still working on butter!
If you're going to infuse oil, may I suggest coconut oil. I believe its melting point is around 100 degrees. That way if you use it with water it's easy to separate it in the fridge. The only thing with coconut oil over butter is that you should use lecithin for the most potent extractions. You can also use coconut oil in recipes that need butter. In that case you just soften it before cooking, not melt it. I poured my coconut oil into silicone cupcake liners. After they Harden I peel the liners off and put them in a baggie in the freezer.

Type "cannabutter" into google and you'll find everything you might want to know about it

The butter recipes I've seen (and my son has made) still have you decarb first. Chop the weed up to a uniform consistency (not fine, not course, just not chunky). Put it in a covered bowl or on a cookie sheet and cover with foil. preheat oven to 230, bake for 35-40 minutes. let cool, then use.

If the temp is too low or you don't decarb long enough, you won't fully convert the thc-a to thc. If you cook it too long or at too high a temp, you will convert the thc to cbn.

beware though - YOUR APARTMENT WILL STINK OF WEED. just saying.

i think my next harvest (hopefully august!) I will do the oven thing to decarb, then jar it up. That way when I need to use it I know for sure it has already been done...thanks ;-)

Oh, and fwiw, coconut oil is supposed to be terrible for your health........
When compared to olive oil or canola oil you're absolutely right. When compared to butter, not so much. Although coconut oil has more cholesterol, it is a healthier kind of cholesterol.

Mostly just let the res's dry out and refill with fresh water. Every 10 days or so I give a little topfeed of worm tea with some other additives (not nutes except for mag/supher/cal in small amounts)

NL Auto's born june 3...not bad growth for 17 days :-) The ladies are planted in just FFOF/perlite~no nutes yet. I am going to start FF Grow Big 1/3 strength tomorrow (1tsp per gallon). I think the second LED is making a big difference.
