New England-how to deal with Japanese Beetles?

Have had to deal with these DEFOLIATORS with my fruit trees in the past-and now starting to find some enjoying my 4 ' MJ. Using Neem oil currently, but wondering if anything more effective without being majorly toxic. Seen them strip a 8' plum tree in several days and don't want that happening to my girls.

I am in southern New England (RI) and have noticed a couple leaves got chewed up. Nothing major at all but I am wondering if these are the cause. I originally thought it was caterpillars but I haven't seen a single one on my plants and I've been doing regular maintenance with BT while they're still in veg. This is my first real attempt at growing outdoors and wow is it ever different than indoors. Do you happen to have any pics of the damage these fuckers caused your plants?

If you got them you will know it. A neighbors roses were covered in them.

Damn that sucks that you got them from your neighbor. I will be on a lookout for these things then. Like I said in my earlier post I am completely new to outdoors so I am just trying to soak up as much info as possible especially from other growers in the area. Thanks.
