I've been away for a while and had a friend water my plants for me. He didnt have any nutrients and now the upper leaves are really yellow and somewhat wilting. Would it be effective to top from where the yellowing is? I'm growing these northern lights outdoors. Thanks :D

Looks like a heavy iron lockout .... Nitro looks high ( heavy green ) .
Are they potted or in ground ?
Nute line ?

Excessive elements ( like nitro ) can actually lockout other Nutes that SHOULD be available to plant and is now not able to draw up into plant.
If potted , Make a 1/2 strength feed at 6.3-6.5 ph.
You need to correct the UPTAKE problem to correct deficiencies.

They're potted in 7 gallon pots

They're potted, i've been using the fox farm pack with like 8 different bottles. I just fed them normal vegetative nutrients for the first time in a while, i think the problem was they were only getting water for a few weeks. I dont think the damaged areas would recover so i was wondering if it was best to chop off the really bad parts. Thanks for your input!

Woah, that's some crazy lookin plants! I would only chop the tops if you're sure you have the issue resolved, otherwise the new tops after the chop will exhibit same symptoms.

I would ph some water and pour it through the pot when next watering allows and check the runoff ph if and how it deviates from the incoming water ph, and check EC/ppm while you're at it. First thing I would do with this type of issue. pH outta range can cause what you see.

They wont ever recover, thats a pretty heavy onset of iron deficiency try getting a soil test kit and see where your ph is at. If your nutes are too hot in the soil you may be better off running alot of water to try and leech some out. I definitely wouldnt feed them anything for awhile.
