I would go with as big an ac as u can afford. You probably still want a 1600btu even with just 4. That way u can expand if you change your mind later. And the split units are the shit. Maybe bring back the two 600 watters you took out

I normally work it out at 4500-5000 BTU's per 1000W and air cooled hoods need about half that. If you're happy with your setup at only 4 lights then 12000 BTU split unit will be a little more then you need but it means it won't be straining to keep things cool and will last longer.how much btus do I need to clear if I only run 4 x 600w hps
