New soil blend

Hey guys! I figured I'd share a couple things I've been doing with my soil latley that have been working really well for me. Please feel free in the comments to leave any input or ideas. I've recently come across a new soil that has really made my roots go nuts which is ferti-lome ultimate potting mix. I use this in conjunction with foxfarms marine cuisine time release fertilizer at 1.2 tbs per gallon of soil with the first feeding I also include advances nutrients piranha and tarantula benificial microbe suppliments. This of course can be modified however you would like through the flowering stage. I just figured I'd share its really working well and I'll post some pics below of some roots on clones, the bag of soil and ferts and of course happy growing!

Haha don't worry I will I definantly move them up into dark ones but it's just for seeing what clones are taking off and whatnot : )

I also talked to a couple people about using one hydrated lime water in for the boost of calcium and magnesium plus the fact that it will buffer the acidic feed which I've been watching and haven't had a problem yet over the course of a couple months but just an idea.

haha that's hilarious...I did a little reading...couldn't find much info to prove it was harmful...other than it could promote algae growth which robs roots of O2...and we all know plants breath through their roots.
I've have always heard the sun was bad for tender roots. But when I grow tomatoes in pots instead of growbags in my Red Neck Rain Gutter Grow System, the whole bottom of the trench is a mass of roots. But by that time, the plants are creating a shade for them.

the other thing I read is "supposedly" if roots are exposed to light they could start to produce shoots to come up through the soil. but I think this is really dependent on the species, like raspberries, which grow through runners anyway.
so ima chalk this theory up to being a myth unless someone can show me I'm misinformed. too much of what we read here on a pot growers forum is nonsense. that's why it helps to know a little bit about gardening/plants/botony in the first place.
gardeners grow better cannabis. right Larry?

I have heard of a plant root display down at Mouse Land that has clear glass pots. Not sure how they do it without damage. That might be a google search worth the time.

I "know" how to grow good pot.. If I could grow it in my trench like the tomatoes it would be so much easier. Hauling soil and water through the woods is just going to keep getting harder the older I get. If we have one good shower a week I will be alright. If it stops raining, I'm screwed.

Haha actually speaking of this is you wanna do a really cool experiment that I've been workin on involving soil as well. So look up "air layering" and do it with bud plants : ) it does work and I'm using it to keep a shitload of clones with one mother technically counting as one mother until they are cut off. It's how you can clone raspberry plants and such but it's pretty unique. I'm also trying to make a plant flower that's rooted in multiple different areas but still connected. Once you look up air layering think of bending the mother plant into the soil like the letter "m" without cutting it. I'll post updates since this actually happened to come up but I am a master gardener so that is actually where I got the idea.

Do you bend the limbs down so they will root? I've done it with grapevines, but hadn't thought of trying it with weed. I'd like to see how you are doing with it. Do you have a thread?
