New style Samsung LM561C Board

Some sellers on Alibaba are using the LM561Y diodes instead of the LM561C diodes. I even had one seller tell me that as well. It was either from Bright or Bava.

They are hard to tell from the LM561C as they share the A1 and AZ voltage bins that the LM561C uses. They are inferior chips though.
Can you elaborate on why LM561Y are inferior chips? This is the first time I'm hearing of them.

Because they are lower bin and put out less luminous flux than the lm561c, while not much, they are more in line with the lm561b+ (slightly less than the b+

I ordered 6 boards from the company called feidaming. The single board & heatsink (no driver) is 40$ and 80 for the double board and heatsink. Comes with everything but the driver. This is the data analysis I was given. For the 288 board 3000k she said it was a mix of 3200-3400k for some reason so I'm thinking not the lm561c chip.

Its funny that they sphere test their boards....
Radiant power: 51,247 W
Electrical power: 130,7 1W
Efficiency= Radiant power / Electrical power = 51,247 / 130,7 = 0,392 = 39,2 %

A HLG QB 288 is at 53 %@129 W.
Or 26 % more effective....

And I see that under LER but if you scroll down it changed with the current. At 2100mA it says you're only getting a max of 177lm/w unless I'm calculating that wrong.
Just like the QER is estimated at 4.86umol/j but once you get to 2100mA it's only 2.59umol/j.
Nvm I think I see what you're saying. But still it's only estimated.

Lm 561Y lacks internal components for longevity ........ They where made on the cheap for a big lighting company to build bulbs with. We won't touch them...... Of course we are snobs lol...... Big announcement in a few days .... Can anyone say lm301b

Here's my gerber file I made in Eagle CAD. I designed it in mind for having LM561C (252 of those) and 18 Cree XP-E LED. I just sent off for some @ seeedstudio.com You just gotta surface mount all the parts and slapper in the oven.

I posted pictures earlier in the thread, I bought both s5 and s6 from digikey and they are visibly a different color although only very slightly..
Any way you could link to the post? I found that diodes are all ever so slightly different, even in the same bin.

If the difference is so slight, Is it acutally feasible to distinguish them when you dont dont know which is which?

My guess is that what you're seeing is inconsistencies in the phosphor powder. The colour differences is what gives you a 3500k led vs a 3000k/4000k/5000k. Even if you have two 3500ks the LEDs are so small that the phosphor settles just a bit differently.

To confirm your theory we need multiple S6s from different batches, and multiple S5s from different batches.

I've got a USB microscope coming, and I'm going to order my LEDs likely this month so I'll probably post back at some point with my examples. I'll also order some LEDs from Digikey.

Yes I realize that (about the phosphor and color 3000/4000/ect). The only led that looked the same was the s6. Yeah they all look a tiny bit different but the s5 was a significant difference when compared to all of the other leds of the same bin. I bought 2 s6 from 2 different sellers, both matched, the s5 did not. I guess I could buy more s5's to see if they are also different...
Awesome. We'll need more examples to be sure, but if we can actually tell the difference between S6s, and S5s just through appearance that'll be great.

Also, what do people think of 3500k for my board? It's going to be for vegging, and flowering.
