Gro tent.jpg Gro light.jpg Hey friends, I just bought a 3'x3'x72" tent and a 1000(185 actual used) watt led grow light. What do I need to know to get started? This is my first set up and I know nothing about tent growing. I know u need vents and fans right? Any advise on helping me better this grow would be appreciated. I would love it if everybody chimed in little bit. Thanks all for your help.

Set up the tent, hook up the light and put a thermometer inside and get an idea what your temps will be...collect that info and go from there...g/l

You will deffinitely have to look into odor control/ventilation. 4 to 6 inch inline fan, carbon filter, and ducting. I would consider getting elbow fittings for any bends in the ducting. Vent your ducting to atleast a different room than the one the tent is in so you have more fresh air and co2 for your plants.

Next watch you temps with your setup going. Be sure that you're in the recommended range of 68 degrees on the lower end to 85 on the high end and a humidity range of 50 to 60 in veg and 30 to 40 for flower. Watch it with lights on and off. If you are getting well outside of these ranges you may have to do something about it depending on what it is like getting an AC unit and/or dehumidifier. You probably won't have to worry about much with it being led, heat shouldn't be an issue. If its in a musty basement for example that may cause problems. Also always keep an oscillating fan going inside the tent.

Now get your pots ready and whatever your using, I'd recommend soil. Smart pots and air pots I've heard good things about but your average plastic pots work too. Go with 2 to 3 gal pots depending on how many you plan on growing in the tent.

Random things that you will need/be handy;
- PH up and down kit with ph tester
- Watering can
- Soil moisture/ph meter
- Jewelers loupe
- Some spare gallon jugs
I'd recommend a TDS meter for measuring the parts per million in you fertilizer mix.
Do some reading up on different nute lines and decide what you want, many good ones out there.
Also would be a good idea to look into an organic pesticide so you have it just incase you need it. Same goes for fungicides. Theyre pretty cheap. There's lots of good threads on here about what works well.

Hopefully I havnt missed anything too critical, very medicated off my cookies I made for my first ever edibles :lol:

So lastly I'll say get on you tube and watch watch watch. Look up grow journals and "how to"s and anything you come across, take it in, nothing wrong with taking notes either.

Good luck!!:D
