Thank you pop22 so u don't need to move up in pot size from rooted I can pot straight in the 25l pots!! My mate wants to try the auto pot also but not sure on the pot size would he be ok on 15l or will there be alot of difference with the 25l? That is great help Thc427 nailed every point seems like u no what your talking about!! Appreciate your help!! :) on the coco do u get a certain brand like canna then add perlite to that or does it already come mixed in with there products? I am a canna fan so it's hard to get off there brand and trust another I no there probably is some better and cheaper..would u be able to tell me what u add nutes etc// and your ec readings if possible as if I go by canna chart and put there recommended dose in ec goes mad so I halfed what they have said!! But not sure bout the ec what I'm safe with as they say really high compared to other growers!! And have u ever had the problem of when u fill your res and say ec is 1.6 open valve and it goes to 1.8 I don't no why it does this and should I just take the ec reading when valve is closed...thanks everyone for your replies :)
your ec shouldnt be dropping like that just bcuz the valve is open.
I would sujest your not letting them mix well enough or your nutrients are accumulating on the top and as you open the valve the water is releasing that isnt mixed up very well this is all i can think of. I normally monitor the ec in TANK and then in the trays and try to balance it out im between 1.1 an 1.2 ec at moment

Hey all.

I am looking at autopots but have a few questions;

I currently have a ppm, and ph meter. If I go this route do I need a meter that test ec as well?

Are nutes mixed like hydro or is it the same as I do for hand watering?

I am looking at running the 4 pot system in a 3x3.

Thanks

Hey PPS, I'm totally new to auto pots and tbh it's my first ever grow so I thought I'd start with some auto flowers. So I ordered z skittles by Dutch passion.. ☹☹☹ After two weeks, zero growth in germanation pots. (turns out ALOT of ppl have had problems from Dutch passion)
The seed bank then sent me out a fresh batch of zkittle glue by expert seeds.
I'm looking for some info on what to use as nutes for my grow. The soil is new living soil with worm castings, perlite & Coco cóir. + Clay pebbles in the base.
Should put a diluted forumla into the tank or top dress the medium at a later stage?
Cheers guys

Never seen anyone running soil in autopots.

However this thread is very old and likely all these guys are dust in the wind.

I would suggest you start your own thread with "living soil and autopots" in the title .

Edit, maybe post one in the hydro section and one in the organics section, maybe someone's tried it and can offer advice or has at least tried bottom feeding living soil.
