New to cloning

I’m thinking of cloning some plants. Is a 50$ aqua cloner a good piece to have.? I can make you I know! I don’t want to right now. Main question is how long befor I have to have a veg closet ready to transplant my clones. And how important is it that my veg closet be light tight?
I’m tired of vegging plants 8-9 weeks along side autoflowers. Seems like many people veg for about 5 weeks then flip. Hoping for thoughts.

If your new to cloning expecially in aero having ph of water correct “all the time” is essential. If the ph goes one way or another for one reason or another it could be disastrous. That being said. Go with the domes with root riot cubes. Take two buckets of nutrient solution. After squeezing out the little bit of water they put in the cubes put them into first bucket to absorb. After they absorb your nutrients squeeze out the cubes. I use 3 in one hand and 3 in the other. Put the cubes into the second bucket and let cubes absorb the nutes. I also recommend you have a heated clone done mat to increase results. After switching to this method a few years ago I’ve been 95-100%. Don’t waste your time and money on these big money cloners, do it cheaper and with guaranteed better results

Just get a small vial of clonex gel, a 5$ humididome and either coco pucks or just mix your own light/airy soil mix in a starter tray. Guaranteed to have ~95%+ success rate if you keep them humid and warm, then slowly harden to dryer air and more intense light. Mine usually are ready for transplant to 16oz solo cups (aka keg cups) in about 2weeks from cut. You can fit 50 under one or two 2ft t5s in a kitchen cabinet. Usually good under those for upto 4 weeks before they need to graduate to a bigger space/more light and dirt. Light-tight is pretty important, especially if right beside your bloom space. Duct tape works good for sealing nooks and crannies, but still allowing hinged doors to open, etc.

been cloning for decades and the easiest cheapest fastest roots come when I
cut/scrape/dip into cloning gel and into a cup of moist promix. I slip another clear cup over top of it
for a week and I can see roots in the cup, remove clear cup and transplant. No watering needed until
transplanted.
I've also cut/scrape/dip and set a bunch of cuttings into a cup of water and dome. they all showed roots by 14 days with no fuss.
had to add water once.
when I put an air hose in that cup they root in about 10 days and water needs adding every couple days.

With an aero cloner, you need no hormones , PH'ing water is not needed .
Just take a cut, put in puc's, plug in cloner, & wait, normally 7 - 14 days, strain dependent
Good luck

I just use a cheap ass humidity dome and a little clonex rooting gel(although I've done with aloe vera and still 90% success) as long as you're taking them from good healthy plants it'll root super easy, a seedling heating pad helps too, not needed just speeds it up.

number 1 factor is the temperature and humidity. I have seen many strains give out roots when they are in an enclosed dome with high humidity and temperature 75-80F

Ph’ing water is not needed? Not sure what too say except if you have that thought your either stupid about growing or just delusional. Have you ever heard of nutrient lockout? Do you know how that’s caused? I’d hate to see your plants

I've always had problems with cloning. By the time I get roots, they usually have yellowed beyond saving. I've instead chosen to start using colloidal silver and pollinating selected plants for seed, but part of me still yearns for the stability and uniformness of clones.

I never use dome, or heat pad ,or spay them, no nutes ,stim -root,always use razor blade ,you can scrape stem I don't bother,I never have cuttings die.But I place my cuts in total darkness 24 hours in glass of water .Then dip in stim-root & place in what ever medium I have around ,100 % every time.very cheap no hazzle

I’ve always been decent to good over the years but when I took all that crap that root riot puts in their cubes and replaced it with my nutrient solution results went through the roof. But who am I, ive only cloned hundreds of thousands of clones and have supplied numerous caregivers with genetics since09

What type of nutrients do you use for clones?
