ok so I'm just starting hydro and I have this exact system. My question is, I just cracked my seeds and put them in rock wool, can I put them in the system right away or start them growing then put in the system? Thanks in advance RIU gods image.jpeg

I've found with R/W it's real easy to over water until the roots are established. I would probably put them in but hand water or time the water feed. That's what I would do lol.

I run a flood and drain type setup with netpots and hydroton and when I first put the germinated plants in I flood twice a day to just touching the bottom of the cube, so it just stays moist. Once the roots are out of the net pot I flood once every hour up to every 15 minutes. Honestly I have not seen a huge difference in flood times. If it's hot I tend to flood a bit more for cooling the root system. Again I would just hand water in netpots now.

well the one that dried out was a cfl in the top of a pop can with the RW at the bottom so it got pretty hot. I checked these over night a few times and they are still damp. So how often should I be watering them? Once I get a good root structure going I'll put them in my drip system and run it 3-4x a day for 15min a time(timer only does 15min increments)
