Newb Question: Fan Leaves and Branches?

After looking at my girls many times
I've come to realize that it seems that there are major fan leaves that only have 1 stem that comes from the main stalk. And above them from the main stalk comes the branches that look like mini versions of the entire plant.
It's the mini branches that I want to cut for cloning right?
I can't clone using the fan leave stems?

right on. That's what I was thinking, but it hasn't been discussed based on what I have seen thus far on my research. I'm still a month away or so before I do it, but I want to make sure I'm sniping off the right bits.
