Newb trying aeroponics - HELP - pics/journal to follow

I just picked up the above aeroponics system and was going to start my seedlings off in rockwool with the 24hrs/day of 105 watt CFL (included in the kit), switching to 18/6 when the time is appropriate.
The seeds are high quality White Widow and Blueberry. I will be planting 3 of each and using Earth Juice organic nutes.
The set up will be in a well ventilated, white painted, tile floored, walk-in closet. I definitely plan on purchasing a light for the flowering cycle and am open to the idea that I may need/want to add more light than my CFL during the grow period, as well.
Question 1 - Any thoughts on light choices? I was considering getting the following 400w kit to supplement both stages of my growing:

I had also considered T5 flourescents for now and a flowering set-up, when needed.
Question 2 - Will the 3" mesh pots be large enough to support my adult plants if I use SoG? If not, I am prepared and have the space to purchase and transplant to Aquafarm buckets. Any thoughts?
Question 3 - Should I start my seedlings in rockwool, in my set up, with 24hr CFL? Or is there benefit to germinating them with wet paper towels, in a drawer, first (i.e. being able to determine sex before introducing seeds to the set up)?

Your help and advice is greatly appreciated. I have already learned so much on this site. Thanks.

PEACE :joint:

Depends what you want to do. Yes using the sog style will work in the net pots. Your system is for pot growing not tomatoes. But if all you have is that one HID and you can get the aquafarm buckets then 2-4 aquafarm bucket plants will have more yield than 6 sog plants.
You wouldn't be doing a true SOG without about 4 times the equipment because the purpose of the technique is to have a harvest every 2 weeks.
It looks to me you are just getting your firt grow together ;)

where are you buying all this from?
Got the seeds from Rhino Seeds (UK)
Got the aeroponic stuff through E-Bay.
The kit came with all that is pictured, below (organic nutes, rock wool, hydroton, the light, etc...)
It sounds like I may have paid a bit extra ($150), but being a true first timer, I figured that I could use a head start.
I, also, figured that I could always use this set up for something, even if I upgraded to a better set up down the road.

Whether you garden for fun, food or profit, the Aero-Pro system will give you everything you'll need to build, grow and reap the rewards of hydroponic gardening without breaking the bank. Aeroponics is one of the fastest plant cultivation methods to grow vegetables, herbs, flowers and houseplants due to the high level of dissolved oxygen to the root zone. Plants will achieve an increase in water and nutrient uptake over conventional soil gardening methods. Soil tends to bind up crucial minerals and therefore plants tend to expend a lot of energy pulling the minerals away from the positive ions such as clay in the soil. With aeroponics the cation exchange is neutral for optimum nutrient uptake and accelerated growth. An added befit to using the Aero-Pro system is that there are NO 1/4" hoses or fittings of any kind to clog.

Ugly Lights 105 Watt Compact Fluorescent Light and hood
400 Watt High Intensity Equivalent!
Excellent for use in smaller indoor gardens of approximately 4' x 4' (16 square feet) these lights will produce more than enough light to grow your favorite flowers, bulbs, buds or herbs from seedling to adult. What is especially notable about these lights is that it WILL NOT cause your monthly electrical bill to spike. In fact, using these lights on an 18 hour cycle will cost you less than $10 per month in most markets.
Compact Fluorescent Lighting has come a long way since it's inception. Today they are bigger, brighter and way more efficient. An added benefit is that, even though they produce the same lumens and Kelvin Temperature as their High Intensity counterparts, they do not produce the worrisome heat that HID lights produce. This allows you to position the lights closer to the canopy of your plants and can use them in a much more confined area (i.e. a closet).
This light is Full Spectrum and burns at 5000K allowing for vegetative AND flowering cycles. No need to purchase a separate bulb for both stages of growth. This is NOT a standard sized fluorescent bulb. See for yourself:
Ugly Lights hoods were designed with damp situations in mind. The lamp holder is heavy duty with grounded three prong plug. It is sheathed in 1/16" aluminum and comes complete with a felt lined gasket for a moisture tight seal.

Understood on SoG... I think I put the cart before the horse. Once I get this set up going and expand, maybe, then, this equipment could be used for SoG.
As far as lights, you think I should buy the 400w combo that I pictures above?

Thanks for the insight. One day, maybe, I'll know what I'm talking about.

yeah thats what I was going to say, I wanted to know prices

I had responded to this, but, being as I had a large pic, it is in a holding pattern for moderator approval.
As you'll see when that pops up, I may have paid a bit too much ($150)... I am a true first timer and thought that a kit that was ready to go with nutes, rock wool, hydroton, a CFL, etc... may be a good way to get started.
