Newbie first grow, defoliate more?

Hey everyone, I'm in the middle of my first grow and have learned a lot so far from reading the threads and simple trial and error, but if like to get some opinions on whether or not I should defoliate any more.

Some grow details-
Growing 3 plants, strain is ak48, they're about 59 days from seed right now and I just switched to 12/12. From what I've seen that's a long veg time, but I thought I had bought the auto flower strain so was just waiting it out. Turns out it's the photoperiod. No problem. They're in a homemade 4x4 tent under a 1000 watt HPS. Vegged under 1000watt MH. All are in DWC 5 gallon buckets.IMG_2951.JPGIMG_2954.JPGIMG_2952.JPGIMG_2953.JPG

They had gotten SUPER bushy so I trimmed a bit of the fan leaves off so it's not so squished in there. I'm also worried about air flow and mold growing so thought that might help with it. Temperatures are at 81 right now and humidity at about 20-25%

My question is should I defoliate more right now? Are they still too bushy? Maybe wait until flowering has begun to cut more? Any help is appreciated and I'm looking forward to everyone's input and being a part of the forums! Thanks!

Not sure I understand your question. I cut off some fan leaves because they were getting too wide for the tent but I'm not sure if I should cut more or if they look alright like that. How important is light penetration to the bottom of the plant? Should I cut more fan leaves to help prevent mold in a crowded tent?

if you can't make the room bigger

or

remove a couple of the smaller plants

here: then I would trim just to improve some breezeway

keep in mind snipping branches can lead to a lot more issues than mold

good luck
