newbie light question

I want to grow a few plants in my closet. I'm a student with very little money. What would be the cheapest light source to do the job? What should I buy and how much will it cost?

hey if u need sumtin cheep defenitely go with the tubes...for about 25$ you shoudl be able to get 2 40 wat 4ft tubes and the fixture u put them in....they dont heat up so u can keep them close to the plants.

3-4 plants and you could get a fixture and 2 each veg and bloom (4 tube total) t-5 bulbs for not too much. Lighting is so critical it's hard to go cheap and expect great results. Id advise to grow less plants maybe 2-3 and use 1-2 bulbs to get healthy plants that will yield more. T-5 bulbs can be bought in 2 foot lenghts also so ur not wasting space. a 2 ft single tube fixture is like 20 bucks.

Growing MJ on the cheap usually produces lack luster results.

still worth doing. look into cfl's mate, pretty cheap and u can grow some pretty good shit with em.
