newbie - so my closet is out of commission..

and one of my plants is nearing the harvest stage. I have just a few questions and if any are answered, then that'd be awesome. =]

I read that some people can use a cardboard box as a drying area to replace the closet. I was just thinking a cardboard box and a small oscillating fan. If so, how does that work? Does anybody have pictures or can anyone tell me how would I construct it? I know I would have to stretch lines across the interior for the drying lines, but where would the ventilation occur?

and I think i got curing down. But I wanna make sure I know what I'm doing.

so for curing:

Once the buds have dried, I place the buds in a mason jar, burp it 3 times a day. Shake it up once in a while. and that's it right? But for how long?

this is the cheapest way i could find, and I got this out of a old 'High Times' magazine of mine. a hole with string, masking tape and labelled clothespins is the easiest way, I use a box fan in the room and just lightly close the box flaps for better air circulation to the buds that are hanging upside down. i keep them on a unused bookshelf about 4' off the floor, they dry in about 1-2 weeks this way

the screen is from an old door panel taped into the box 1" off box bottom for air circulation

i'm a little confused with your photos though...

there's no screen pictured in the first and last picture, so explain please? I don't know if it is meant to show the screen is added at a later stage in drying or..?


and i'm guessing box orientation is not important, right? i see that the pictures show the boxes laying flat and standing up..

I think you have 3 different boxes, right?? the screen in the box is one method and the strings and the clothespin is the other method??
