Newbie to no till

Hey fellow growers, I have been doing a lot of research and reading on the forum and I’m a bit suck. I’m on my 4th or 5th organic grow, a good way from my first hempy grow. I started with the LC Mix and had some pretty good results. I was reading about ROLS and got pretty interested so I started gathering some extra amendments. I actually ran across a buy one get one 50% off deal at the local shop and bought a lot of things in the spur of the moment. Now I have decided to move to a no till grow. Below are the items I have and several questions.

1. Any thoughts on using white or crimson clover for my living mulch?
2. Do I leave the root ball in the soil in between grows,?
3. Any recommendations of teas to use, I’m leaning towards Kelp/alfalfa/ewc teas?
4. Based off what I have now, am I better off going ROLS or No Till?

I’m growing in one 7 gallon nursery pot. This mix has been cooking for 1 month, probably will let it go another 3-4 weeks while my current grow is wrapping up

Peat moss (33%)
Perlite (33%)
EWC (33%)
2 Handfuls of Clay pellets I had laying around

Blood Meal (1/2 Cup) – Ran out
Bone Meal (1 Cup) -
Kelp Meal (1/2 Cup)
Dolomite (1/2 Cup)
Jersey Greensand (1/2 Cup)
Neem Seed (1 Cup)
Alfalfa Meal (1 Cup)
Feathermeal (1/2 Cup)
Azomite ( 1 Cup)
Gysum (1 Cup)
Granular Humic (1/3 Cup)
Crab Meal (1 Cup)
Oyster Shell (1 Cup)

Thanks for any assistance; I really want this to get off to a good start. Oh and I have some liquid karma and Neptuene's harvest 2-4-1 laying around

I use red/white clover as living mulch...and let it keep on growing in between grows after re-amending. (Best not to let it flower though)
I take the root ball out and compost it for later use
You're leaning towards sound teas...(a thread on compost teas would go on and on and on ;) )
7 gallons seems a bit small for no till...but to each their own...

Someone else will peruse your soil mix...it's 7am here and I need coffee :bigjoint:

how many gallons of soil is all that going in? your mix looks pretty broad though.. i till and dont till sometimes. grow a full garden to recycle your soil through. if you grow pot on pot on pot on pot you'll grow root issues and fungal attacks eventually. most organic gardeners do crop rotation. this is where you change the plant genus every crop cycle. dont grow the same genus until you have grown two others in between. you'll be surprised how far slow release amendments will get you in pair with teas.

Just my 2c after 3 runs in 7 gallon pots:
Yes leave the rootball in, it's food for the next generation!
Don't forget to have worms in your soil! I'd say they're essential for no-till as they help mix topdressings in - and actually no-till does get tilled - just not by us

I think in 7 gallons I can do a few no-till runs and then will want to reamend.
If only to get the lava rock, which I saw had sunk to pot bottom, mixed back in more evenly (I saw this when I had to uppot a plant to 10g because she ran out of root space).
Actually, I think this to be true of any container situation, except maybe really large ones size of garden beds. The larger the pot, the longer it will be able to go no-till, but there will come that day, when the no-till gets a makeover. Just my impression ;)

I would double your mix amigo, and the only thing I would omit when doubling everything is the castings and blood and bone meal, as well as alfalfa and crab

I would also leave feather meal out unless running long sativas but that's just me, I cut out as many animals by products as possible, and get the castings closer to 15% but of a higher quality, ie DIY

Interestingly, you can plop a 7 gallon fabric into any size tub be it shallow or a big tote, I've used the 7 gallos a lot and have liked them more every time I embedded them into something.

Here's what I'm doing now but I used to use a flat tote and it changed the height only 5" yet added mega soil, and I could have put it flat on the ground so it added no extra height.

I call it PLP technique cause I PLoP it in there and do no disrupting. It's no til on wheels meets ROLS meets SIP .. Meets fabric pot..

These containers added 25.5 and 12 gallons respectively. The top one is the SiP. Are you in the states or Canada or elsewhere?

Well on your way to supreme fire, nice stuff!

Nice hookup, wanted to know if that metal pipe is use to water the bottom of your soil in tote?. And how much do you water. Is it water only or do you use nutes?. Thinking of trying this soon.

If I don't fly imma die anyway

Telsa, thanks for the feed back. I researched your recommendations and see that I was once short short side of things, I doubled the items you recommended. I didn't double the azomite because of some of the things I was reading, so I just increased it by 50%.

wait...
am I understanding this correcty?
you are making ONE 7 gallon containers worth of soil?
if so you are waaaay off on this man, I hope you didn't plant it in there yet.

5.5 cups of nutrients is too much my man
especially if you doubled it
I think dontesla may have misunderstood your post?

Now that I look at like now, that does seem like alot. How do I recover, these are options I see.

1. I'm finishing up a grow with (3) 2 gallon gallon plants. Should I mix this in? It is a normal LC mix #1 with recipe #1

2. Take this soil and mix it in with my veggie raised box, it is resting until the spring. And start over

Thoughts?

Oh man sounds like you have a pot full of amendments. I used less total amendments in over 30 gallons of soil. About 1/2 cup per 6 gallons is what I go by.
