Nitrogen Abundance?

I had just switched from veg to bloom a few days ago. My plants had been looking extremely healthy before that. My plants had been in veg quite a while. I've been feeding primarily Fox Farms. So far, best match I can find is Nitrogen abundance, but I'm not sure.

If you are growing in a soiless medium do not switch to flowering nutrients until the end of the 2ed week of flowering. Since the plant is still vegging at that point and stretching. It will require the nitrogen in early stages of flowering. If you use flowering nutrients the plant will rapidly yellow.

It needs calcium and magnesium at this time to ready itself for bud development. Then the use of flowering nutrients are in order.

I'm growing in soil. So far, the leaves aren't yellowing at all, just curling downward.

It's looks like it's maybe over watered kind of droopy?
That's very possible. I had cut the lighting from 18 to 12 hours over the previous week, without really adjusting how much water I was giving them. I've switched to watering every other day for now and giving them just water with rooting supplement (first) and a light dose of molasses (last night). How long until the leaves start to correct themselves?

You were watering every day in soil? That's too much. Even every other day may be too much. Lift the pot and when it feels light, water. If it feels heavy, wait.

I watering relatively lightly daily. My plants are in 6 gallon bags and I would rarely water until water dripped out of the bag. Also, the temperature has dropped significantly in the last week, which I'm sure contributed to the recent symptoms of over watering.

It doesn't matter. Roots need oxygen. Without it they will die. Keeping the soil moist won't let them breathe. Even a little water every day is bad.

It's better to let the soil get dry - just before the leaves show distress, then soak the soil and let 20% run off.

I'm pretty sure the daily watering was fine when the lights were on 20 hours a day and it was super hot every day. The moisture gauge was reading DRY and the plants would often be a little droopy when I watered, and would perk back up soon afterward. Unfortunately, I had gotten into the habit of not using the gauge and just watering like "normal" even though I had reduced the lighting and the average temperature had dropped more than 20 degrees. When I first started growing, I over watered a lot and I would get the classic Nitrogen lock symptoms (yellow leaves, etc). This is the first time I had seen dark green, clawing leaves.

What size of pot? Is that an air pot? my are in a 5 gallon fabric bags 1 foot tall at the moment I water once a week with a really lite mix of 2 part sunshine mix 4 and 1 part grow stones :eyesmoke:

They are in 6 gallon bags. If I drenched them every time I watered, I probably could have gotten away with watering every 2-3 days, but I like checking on them every day, so I'd give them a light watering once a day, usually with a weak fert mix. Water pH is generally around 6.5 when I water. They're pretty old plants by now (cloned around 6 months ago) and are about 5' tall after multiple prunings and lots of attention. They've looked super strong and healthy (with the exception of a short case of mites) the entire time until a few weeks ago when I switched them to bloom, changed thier bulb and started phasing in some bloom fert.

So you're using fox farm's nutes with what soil ffof? You should be watering like maybe every 3 or 4 days but it depends on how big of light what's your temp and humidity and air movement. You wanna feed nutrients only every other watering 5' plants should be at least 1200 ppms you are check ppms ?

I don't have anything to check ppms at the moment. I'm running 1000w hps on a light mover with dual 4' tubes mounted vertically in the corners at 45° in an 8'×8' space. I have tons of air movement and my AC keeps the room between 70° and 87°f. The humidity is pretty low here, so I was probably evaporating a fair amount of water when it was over 100° every day (my moisture gauge would read DRY) but now it has cooled off. Between that and reducing my light cycle, I forgot adjust my water accordingly. Oh, and I think I'm using Dr. Earth or Fox Farms soil. I can't remember now. It was months ago.

Your loving them to death ......water thoroughly and wait until they ask you for water the next time ....this will get you dialed on the water schedule ....it's ok to check on them each day ...but you don't have to do something to them ....less is more ....KISS method.....GL

Definitely looks like a nitrogen toxicity to me man, iv'e seen it before in a soil grow of mine. Those leaves are very dark green, and you see how the tips of the leaves are kind of curled at the end, but your plant isn't drooping. (at least is doesn't look like it in the pic) this curling of the tips is an almost sure sign of nitrogen toxicity which is commonly referred to as "the claw". I'm 99% sure that this is the case but you should look at this.

Thanks, I'm going to reduce nutrients for a while and also let my plants dry out in case they are over watered. Would you recommend using something like Super Thrive or Boomerang to speed up recovery?

There is no such word as "Speed" in growing. "Step Away From The Plants!!"

Sorry bro, I'm not actually sure what those are, sorry I'm a bit of a noob. I've just done a lot of research into deficiencies as I've always enjoyed growing plants, but I would say the best thing you can do is just tone down the nutes a bit and make sure you get a good amount of air to the roots between watering's, you might wanna give it a flush aswell

Do not use superthrive in flower, assuming it's the bottle that looks like a 50s comic book ad. Your plants will get real stretchy and if used too far in your buds will look great but be very larfy and never dense up. It also supposedly can cause nanners if you give too much during flower. Your best way back would be just waiting it out. Seaweed extract is about the only thing I would suggest and I would even be cautious there because you definitely sound like you're loving them to death.
